DigUp is a free, open-source desktop application that lets users search local files by their content using natural language. Powered by Google DeepMind's EmbeddingGemma 2, it supports semantic and keyword searches across images, PDFs, documents, audio recordings, videos, and source code. Its multimodal AI model understands content across more than 100 languages, enabling cross-language searches. Users can locate specific PDF pages, video moments, audio segments, and code functions directly from search results. The application automatically indexes selected folders and updates its index as files change. All processing happens locally without cloud uploads, accounts, or telemetry. Available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, DigUp combines privacy-focused file discovery with AI-powered search.
