UIInput.validateValue() oversteps its authority #1278

Closed

Description

@eclipse-faces-bot

Consider this text from UIInput.validateValue():

ensure that the local value is not empty (where "empty" is defined as null or a zero-length String).

JAVASERVERFACES-3267 argues that it is a custom converter's responsibility to determine what is meant by "empty", rather than UIInput.
