Inspiration
Entry was born from a real need. A local Lindy Hop dance school was managing memberships and attendance manually, which became increasingly difficult as the number of students grew. Keeping track of active memberships, remaining sessions, and class attendance took valuable time away from teaching. We saw an opportunity to simplify these daily tasks with a modern, easy-to-use mobile app.
While building the first version, we realized that the same challenges existed in many other businesses, including yoga studios, pilates centers, gyms, language schools, and music academies. That insight transformed Entry from a dance school solution into a flexible membership management platform.
What it does
Entry helps businesses manage their daily operations in one place. It allows staff to manage members, track attendance, monitor memberships, and organize customer information with a fast and intuitive interface. Our goal is to reduce administrative work so business owners can spend more time focusing on their customers.
How we built it
We built Entry using Flutter, allowing us to develop a single codebase for both iOS and Android. Throughout development, we worked closely with real business owners, continuously refining the product based on their feedback. Instead of adding every possible feature, we focused on creating workflows that require as few taps as possible while remaining flexible enough for different business types.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was balancing simplicity with flexibility. Every business operates slightly differently, but we wanted Entry to feel intuitive for everyone. Designing an interface that was both powerful and easy to learn required many iterations and constant feedback from real users.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
We’re proud that Entry wasn’t built around assumptions—it was built around real customer needs. Watching the app evolve from solving one dance school’s problem into a platform that can support many different membership-based businesses has been incredibly rewarding. We’re also proud of delivering a polished cross-platform experience with a single Flutter codebase.
What we learned
One of the biggest lessons we learned is that user feedback is more valuable than our own assumptions. Many of our best improvements came directly from conversations with business owners. We also learned that creating a great product is less about adding features and more about removing unnecessary complexity.
What’s next for Entry
We’re continuing to expand Entry with more automation, analytics, and integrations to help businesses save even more time. Our vision is to make Entry the easiest and most reliable platform for membership-based businesses to manage their customers, attendance, and daily operations—regardless of their size.
