The teacher is making a class list with the names and birthdays of the students. He asks: “Uwe, when is your birthday?” Uwe pretends not to hear. The teacher repeats his question: “I’d like to know when your birthday is?” Uwe replies huffily: “Why? You’re not going to give me a present anyway.”
