Online abuse (harassment, hacking, and doxxing) has become an increasingly common threat for journalists around the world. IWMF Program Coordinator Tat Bellamy-Walker, who leads many of our safety trainings in the US, sat down with the National Press Club Journalism Institute to discuss the steps journalists can take to protect themselves from online attacks and how to recover if targeted: https://lnkd.in/ecCyxZf6

We join our colleagues at the Committee to Protect Journalists in calling for the immediate release of Nyala Radio journalists Ishraqah Abdulrahman, Zahraa Muhammad Al-Hassan, and Mawahib Ibrahim by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan. Since their kidnapping, reports have emerged that the three women's health has significantly deteriorated and they are in urgent need of medical care. No journalists should be targeted or harmed for doing their jobs, especially during national crises like Sudan's ongoing civil war. We join the global journalism community in demanding the safe return of these brave women journalists to their loved ones.
