The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) has been a cornerstone of affordable housing and community development since 1940. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable housing for low-income families and individuals through the effective and efficient administration of housing assistance programs. With a portfolio of more than 4,600 housing units across Shreveport, HACS is committed to more than housing — we are dedicated to building pathways to self-sufficiency, economic independence, and long-term community stability. Guided by a five-member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, we strive to create sustainable neighborhoods and expand opportunities for the residents we serve. At HACS, we believe housing is the foundation for stronger families, thriving communities, and a more equitable Shreveport.
