Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of meals are served at camp?
Camp meals are kid-friendly, nutritious, and served family-style or cafeteria-style.
Breakfasts might include pancakes, cereal, eggs, or fruit. Lunch and dinner could
include options like pasta, sandwiches, tacos, grilled chicken, or pizza — always with
fruits, vegetables, and sides.
How do you ensure meals are balanced and healthy?
We follow nutrition guidelines and include a balance of protein, carbs, fruits, and
veggies at every meal. We limit processed foods and sugary items — and always offer
fresh options.
Are meals cooked on-site?
Yes! All of our meals are freshly prepared on-site by our camp kitchen team.
Do you accommodate food allergies?
Yes! We take allergies very seriously. Our kitchen is trained to handle common
allergens, and we work with parents to ensure each camper’s needs are safely met. We
can accommodate nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary restrictions with
advance notice.
Can I speak with someone about my child’s dietary needs before camp?
Definitely. We encourage families to reach out before camp starts to discuss
allergies, medical needs, or dietary preferences so we can plan accordingly.
Are nuts or other allergens present in the dining hall?
We are a nut-aware facility and work hard to prevent cross-contamination. Any
allergens present are clearly labeled, and we offer alternatives when needed.
Are there vegetarian/vegan options?
Yes, we provide vegetarian options at every meal, and vegan meals can be arranged
if requested in advance
Can I send food or snacks with my camper?
We ask that campers not bring outside food, especially due to allergy concerns and
wildlife safety. Don’t worry — we keep them well-fed with regular meals and snacks!
What if my camper is a picky eater?
We understand that some kids are selective with food. We offer a variety of choices
at every meal and always have simple options like plain pasta, sandwiches, or fruit
available.
How often do campers get snacks?
Campers typically get two snacks a day — one in the afternoon and sometimes one
in the evening. Think fruit, granola bars, popcorn, or a frozen treat on hot days.
What about hydration?
Water stations are available throughout camp, and campers are reminded often to
drink water — especially on hot days. Please send your camper with a refillable water
bottle!
Will my child have access to food if they miss a meal (due to illness, late arrival, etc.)?
Yes. We make sure all campers are fed, even if they miss a scheduled mealtime.
We’ll have something set aside or made fresh as needed.
What if my child doesn’t like what’s being served?
Don’t worry — there’s always a backup! We offer simple sides like fruit, toast, cereal,
or pasta so there’s always something for everyone.
Can my child choose where they sit during meals?
Usually, yes! You’ll sit with your cabin or group — meals are a fun way to bond and
share stories.
