My microphone is not working in Winux, it works in Windows. So it is definitely a Linux issue. I have tried various suggested fixes, some are very old and go back to 2015, none work. AlsaMixer shows the on board mic but it can't be adjusted.

Ok. I'll answer myself. I tried to get this working many times. What worked eventually was uninstalling Gnome Network Displays in all its forms, then reinstalling from Discover, making sure to use the Flathub version under sources top right corner (Install Flatpak too if its not installed). I also spent some time with Ai checking to make sure all the dependencies were installed and working properly. I did this to cast full screen from Plezy which doesn't have the ability to cast built-in like Pl...

All have worked on this PC without any sound issues. I installed Winux 11 from USB onto a 250 gb blank partition. Logged in, updated it and have been trying it out. But I have no sound coming from my built in PC speakers via the HDMI cable. Sound is playing through the small speaker in the HP instead....

Just wondering what the preferred method of screen casting is from Winux to Chromecast? I've tried Gnome Network Displays which has a huge audio lag and Mkchromecast which instals but won't load? Is there a built-in feature to do this please?

Yes, it is possible to add any new language by creating the files in the locale folder, as the system looks for this folder based on the language selected during installation. I recommend performing the translation and sending it to us so it can be included in PowerTools updates.

Kernel updates are handled by Canonical via Ubuntu. When we migrate to 26.04, kernel 7.2 will likely be the standard. We are already working on this.

You need to reset your key. You must delete it before reinstalling via the slui app. If you haven't deleted it, you need to contact Windows support for a manual reset.

Hi, could I ask about the naming convention of your "winux-11.26.08-noble-lts.iso" file? Is the 11 a day or part of the over name "Winix 11" ?? I'm seeing "11.26.08" and trying to figure out what that means. It is currently the 10th, so 2026-08-11 is not right... it must be part of the name... right?

J'ai eu un problème sur mon poste et j'ai réinstallé la version de Winux qui était installée avant le problème (il s'agit de la version actuelle winux-11.26.06-noble-lts.iso). Every time I open the launcher, I get a notification a new version is available I've downloaded the latest version from Github for .deb but the installer does not give me an option to install only "Remove". I ran "sudo apt upgrade heroic" this did something. it ran as if upgrading, but the app still comes up with the new version available. Does anyone have any Idea. I don't want to uninstall reinstall. Only as a last option.

How do I switch to a virtual terminal from the graphics screen (other than by first logging in, and then invoking the chvt command)? The ordinary CTRL-ALT-F? keys do not work. I also tried FN-ALT instead of CTRL-ALT, and it also did not work. Following up on this situation: I switched from Thunar to Dolphin as my default file manager and the problem went away. I can only surmise that this was a Thunar problem, not a Winux system issue.

After one of the recent updates, my otherwise quite useful Winux system has been unable to access my local Windows shares. Previously, shortcuts to "smb://<ip address="">/<share>" worked just fine. I’ve been using Winux Operating System and overall it’s a smooth and user-friendly experience. The performance is good and it works well even on low-end systems. However, I couldn’t find clear instructions on how to update my current installation. It would be really helpful if the developers could provide a simple update guide for users. Bonjour J'ai téléchargé l'iso linuxfx-winux-11.26.04-noble-lts et je l'ai mis sur une clé usb ( créée avec Ventoy ). Je démarre bien le PC avec cet OS. Par contre, il est en anglais. J'ai réussi à mettre le clavier en français grâce à la commande setxkbmap fr. Par contre, le calendrier reste en anglais bien que j'ai choisi français dans les paramètres région & langue. Est-ce dû au fait que je démarre à partir d'une clé ? Existe t'il un version française de linuxfx ? Merci pour vos réponses

Winux on bootable USB stick. See's the HD but when it goes to install I get "The installer failed to create partition on disk 'md126'. I have tried sever different sized drives, I have put drives in with no partitions on them at all, or a large windows partition. Doesn't matter what combo I use or do, this will not install because of this error. I am sure it's a Unix thing so I am asking for a bone here.

I was looking on the internet and i found the solution. Yo have to download the powertools from the sourceforge.net. When you do regularly updates, there is never a powertools upate. You have to do that as said by downloading the deb file from sourceforge.net and install it. Now my version is updated. Problem solved.

I have the same problem. I have a paid version and I still see version 11.24.04. On a test computer i have a free version. And there I see version 11.26.03.1. I regularly update, and still no change in version on powertools.
