A colleague reported that SimpleTTSReader "didn't work" on 64-bit machines, failing to find any voices other than the Microsoft Anna sample. The problem appears to be that almost all voices are 32-bit. On a 64-bit machine SimpleTTSReader runs as a 64-bit EXE and is unable to load these voices. I recompiled the source, changing the setting Project Properties > Build > Platform Target = x86, and it now finds all voices on the machine.
Forcing it to run in 32-bit may not exactly be more correct, but seems to us more useful at the current time.
