Heltec V3 + GT-U7 GPS: "No GPS Present" after firmware update (worked previously)

I stepped away from the hobby for a while and decided to come back. I was having problems with the devices when i booted them up and decided to do a clean flash. The messaging works fine. Setting up channels worked. But, I can not get the gps to work. I have been working on this for days. My knowledge level is, "enough to break stuff" so, I know Im missing something. both of my devices with GPS stopped working at the same time. Any help would be much appreciated

Hardware

• Heltec V3
• GT-U7 GPS module
• GPS soldered directly to board
• GPIO: RX=47, TX=48 disassembled and verified

Problem

GPS was working previously. After firmware update to 2.7.26 Beta, both devices now show:

• "No GPS Present" with pins 47/48
• "No GPS lock" with pins swapped
• Neither configuration ever connects to a satellite
• Tested USB power and Battery power.
• The GT-U7 is powered and has a constant red light.
• connection points are all clean and strong

Both of my high-tech v3s are now in the garbage they keep freezing I keep having to reload the software and our bootloader mode what a nightmare it is to get this up and running the engineering behind it is less than to be desired so much so that I'm out I bought two V3 and a cent cap and the sense cap is going back today when I get home put it back in the box and return it the V series I crunched and threw in the garbage because they keep freezing blank screen won't turn on and I'm not playing this bootloader mode if you guys can't design something correctly I'm not going to support your failing engineering skills which is obvious at this point. What a nightmare you have to go through to get these things up and running I mean you can't just plug them in and have it recognized I got to download special drivers and all this other baloney and then after I did that it's still didn't recognize it it has the times it says it's a failed connection but yet there it is uploading in the background you guys got a lot of work to do and while you do that you can count me out both these threes in the garbage after the 10 lb sledge hit them out of complete frustration solar notes coming off the road today going back in the box going back to seat Studios they can choke on it
