Today, 7 August 2026, we proudly join the people of Côte d’Ivoire in celebrating 66 years of independence. As Ivorians commemorate this historic milestone, we celebrate a nation whose resilience, enterprise, culture, and leadership continue to drive Africa’s growth and integration. This day reminds us that political independence must be matched with economic freedom, regional integration, and greater opportunities for Africans across borders. Add your voice to the movement. Sign the Make Africa Borderless Now! petition and help build an Africa where Africans can move, trade, create, and prosper freely across the continent. Congratulations to South Africa and Angola on this landmark step toward a more integrated African economy. As Africa’s largest economy, South Africa advances local currency trade, and as Angola’s Kwanza joins the regional payment system, the continent moves closer to a future where Africans can trade faster, cheaper, and with greater financial sovereignty. This is a bold signal that Africa’s prosperity will be built through deeper regional integration, stronger financial cooperation, and reduced dependence on external currencies. A borderless and prosperous Africa is taking shape, one transformative step at a time. Join the movement for a united, visa-free and borderless Africa. Sign the petition now! Visit: https://lnkd.in/dvJYvqga At the Africa CEO Forum, Aliko Dangote, Nigerian businessman, shared a concern; as an investor committed to building businesses across the continent, he says he still has to apply for 35 different visas to travel within Africa. His concern is not only about personal inconvenience; it is about the cost of fragmentation to trade, investment and Africa’s collective progress . If Africans must spend time submitting passports to embassies just to move from one African country to another, then we are making it harder to build the very continent we aspire to create under the AfCFTA. A prosperous Africa cannot be achieved by opening markets while keeping Africans behind visa barriers. Every unnecessary visa is a barrier to collaboration. Every opened border is a step toward shared prosperity. #MakeAfricaBorderlessNow #BorderlessAfrica #AfCFTA #AfricaCEOForum #AfricaProsperityNetwork #OneAfrica #FreeMovement #AfricaRising

Thabo Mbeki, Former President, Republic of South Africa enlightens us on how Africa’s pension funds hold billions of dollars that could help finance the continent’s own development, create jobs, build infrastructure, and lift millions out of poverty. Yet too often, African capital is invested outside Africa because we continue to see our continent as a collection of separate markets instead of one shared opportunity. A truly prosperous Africa requires trust, solidarity, and the political courage to remove the barriers that keep Africans from moving, trading, investing, and building together. That is why the Make Africa Borderless Now! movement is calling for a continent where people, goods, services, and capital can move more freely, unlocking the full potential of Africa’s Single Market under the AfCFTA and bringing us closer to the Africa envisioned in Agenda 2063. Join thousands of Africans calling for a borderless, more prosperous continent. Sign the petition today and add your voice to the movement.
