Senior Strategic Data Analyst Retail and Quick Commerce

A world leading digital delivery platform is seeking a high level data expert to spearhead the growth of their grocery and retail division in the German market. This is a pivotal role based in Berlin where you will act as the bridge between technical data science and commercial execution.

In this position you will define the analytical roadmap for new vertical markets. You will work closely with marketing and operations teams to turn complex datasets into actionable growth strategies. Beyond technical execution you will serve as a mentor to junior analysts and a key advisor to senior leadership helping them understand market dynamics through sophisticated reporting and deep dive investigations.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and lead the analytics strategy specifically for the retail and grocery sectors in Germany.

Execute deep dive analyses on strategic accounts using SQL and advanced analytical methods to optimize commercial performance.

Transform raw data into compelling narratives for executive stakeholders and external partners.

Coach and mentor other data professionals to foster a high performance team culture.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to build automated dashboards and metrics using BigQuery and Tableau.

Apply advanced methodologies such as regression or causal inference to measure the impact of business trials.

Candidate Requirements

At least four years of professional experience in commercial sales or business analytics.

Specific background in the grocery quick commerce or retail industries is essential.

Expert level SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

Proven ability to build visual reports in tools like Tableau Power BI or Looker.

Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to translate vague business problems into technical solutions.

Fluency in English is required and proficiency in German is highly advantageous.
