MiCA, agentic economy & tokenization - a quick Paris Blockchain Week recap. 🇫🇷
Compared to 2 years ago, MiCA sentiment has clearly flipped, from perceived blocker to real ecosystem enabler. At the same time, the agentic shift is becoming tangible: AI agents will transact, decide, and interact.
Think of:
- Payments between agents
- “Know Your Agent” (KYA) complementing KYC
- AI + blockchain turning into real-world infrastructure
- Products need agent-ready APIs, as agents may become the primary interface.
Institutional side accelerating fast: Stablecoins are becoming core financial rails. In Europe, many are waiting for one leading EUR stablecoin, once that’s in place:
→ T+1 → T+0 settlement becomes realistic
→ Treasury, liquidity & cross-border flows get significantly more efficient
At the same time, tokenization is moving from narrative to execution:
Mastercard → tokenization is already standard in payments, replacing card numbers with secure tokens behind the scenes
Institutions → RWAs & financial instruments increasingly moving on-chain
Not everything will be tokenized, but everything that benefits from liquidity, speed, and programmability likely will.
→ And with that better access becomes possible: smaller ticket sizes, new product structures, broader participation.
My takeaway: We’re moving from “people using products” → “agents using infrastructure” and from “markets settling in days” → “instantly.”
That combination will reshape financial services end to end.
All in all a great conference and grateful for all the great connections!
Excited to work in this space.
