What does Generosity mean? It´s not among the classical virtues but seems to be a combination of caritas, humanitas, temperantia and iustitia in my opinion. It means that if you have enough, you´re able to give.
If you don´t have enough for yourself, you´re not able to share but you´re reliant to the generosity of others. (I´ve experienced this for many years in my life.) Then there are times that should make you happy because you have everything you need - but so many people who fall in this category are still unhappy, and I don´t know why. They don´t feel rich but look at those who have more instead of thinking of those who have less. What´s wrong with them? I live in a country where it´s possible to live under human conditions even if you don´t have much, and I´m really thankful for that fact. But I see soooooo many people here contemplating and even denunciating people who have less - but why?
I wouldn´t worry if these emotions were my personal problem, but today they rule politics.
This is why I think that it´s important to think about your claims. It´s a question of perspective. This is why I chose "Generosity" as this week´s theme for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, and I hope that you don´t think it´s a hard theme but feel inspired to make art explaining your own position. I can´t wait to read about your thoughts and see your art!
