I am playing this game on an iPad Air M3 with an Apple Pencil Pro. I don’t normally buy games unless I think they are exceptionally good. Having enjoyed the free Monument Valley I and II, I was certain I would love this one. It has been every bit worth the modest price. The graphics are beautifully rendered, the puzzles require logical thinking, and sit sweetly between challenging and easy, however, much easier if you have played games one and two as you begin to understand the patterns. The theme music is pleasing in that it is neither obnoxious nor excessively repetitive. Similar to background music in a Japanese restaurant that you can’t quite remember having heard, but recall the feeling of a pleasant ambience.The characters in Monument Valley III are cute, charming, and more engaging than in games I and II, along with a few more little tools and surprises. If you enjoy beautiful graphics, sitting down to a calming game to focus and relieve stress, and find yourself smiling at the charm and creative effects, I would encourage you to give this a try. Thank you to the developers for this beautiful game and please continue to build on and bring us more of these and similar games as you have a done a beautiful job of creating something that even seniors like me(65) can enjoy.

tldr: good, but not AS good as the first two gamesI love monument valley just by default, and this game did not disappoint. The puzzles are fun, the art is a treat to look at as ever. The decision to tell a more direct story with this installment was bold, but totally worth it. And the totem boat is fun and smooth to control. However, I have 2 very minor complaints. 1: too much dialog, the first 2 game's greatest strengths was how it used a show don't tell method to convey their stories, with some ominous foreshadowing and obscure lore dropped by the occasional ghosts. 2: too many characters. Aside from the mentor and the nomad I felt nothing for any of the people I met on my journey. Except mayybe the family we rescue from the flood. But pretty much everyone was one-note, and that would be fine were it not for the post game quests pretending like I had some profound connection with these people (except for the nomad's quest that was awesome).

I’ve had the first two games for a several years, and I love both in their own ways; the first is a good challenge while I love the second for its story. I was SOOOO excited when I saw they released the third for iOS and I still can’t believe how they made perfect mix of simple and challenging puzzles, AND such a sweet and powerful story.This game takes a more lively direction compared to the other two games (who emphasize loneliness and emptiness, which works perfectly for their stories), which I absolutely love because it makes this installment stand out. One thing I’m so happy they included was being able to do more puzzles after the main story, so now there’s more to look forward too! Overall AMAZING GAME, the flute, acoustic guitar, and harp and all the visuals and colors just tickle my brain perfectly!!

pro: the visuals are still very good, some creative moments, although a little less sophisticated; also new tricks and smart illusions. you do,have to get pass the 10 levels for the extra games which are actually better than the 10 level ones. con: glitch control, each level is way too short and the tasks are not as challenging, and somehow lacking emotional excitement as the 1 and 2. you are going through the game just to finish the challenges, and you don't feel like you care about the little girl, which is a shame. also the layout is confusing - I thought I finally arrived at the end credits but then the boat will go to even more places if you go through another door ? the memory river boat section has np clear ending and no menu to go back and replay a certain chapter. i don't want to reset the whole game
