Often nicknamed the “Asian unicorn” due to the special shape of its horns, the Saola is considered one of the rarest mammals on Earth, found only in the mountains straddling central Vietnam and Laos. This critically endangered animal is now getting a starring role in BagMaster Isekai, an inventory sorting game that cleverly combines idle RPG and roguelike elements, made by Vietnam–based Doors Studio.

What we love: The game’s new Wild Sanctuary system centered around animal companions, with the saola as its most special addition. As you play, you can bring a saola into your Wild Sanctuary and eventually upgrade it – through tokens earned by releasing sanctuary animals to the wild – into a powerful companion.
