Research and monitoring on disinformation and hate-speech
DW Akademie is seeking to contract an organisation or expert team to deliver an ongoing research and monitoring service that tracks disinformation and hate-speech narratives targeting Syrian media outlets, journalists and fact-checkers. A particular focus shall be laid upon disinformation campaigns aiming at influencing young Syrian audiences (18-45 years old).

The selected provider will be responsible for, among other things:
- Establishing a baseline analysis of the main narratives, actors and platforms (quantitative and qualitative data) that include also a short introduction on broader trends as contextual background
- Conducting ongoing monitoring across the agreed platforms and producing three periodic monitoring reports in English and Arabic – each monitoring report to include a non-public part that won’t be published but only shared with project partners, and a summarized, anonymized public part aimed at publication
- Producing short briefings for newsrooms and civil society partners
- Submitting a final synthesis report upon completion
The project "Fill the Space: Ensuring information supply and media trust for stabilisation in Syria" is funded by the European Union and implemented by DW Akademie, in partnership with Fatabyyano. The project seeks to strengthen local media capacities, enhance fact-checking practices, and promote awareness-raising initiatives to combat disinformation in Syria.
