Call for Interest: Media Emergency Kit, Syrian Media Outlets

Under the project Fill the Space, DW Akademie is developing and rolling out a “Media Emergency Kit” for Syrian media. Through this call, DW Akademie invites Syrian media organisations to express their interest in being selected as one of five (5) core outlets to receive the Media Emergency Kit: an intensive training programme, ongoing mentorship, and a media production kit.

Each selected media organisation will be responsible for: 

  • Nominating two (2) journalists from their organization to complete the full training programme and apply the skills within their newsrooms
  • Integrating improved journalistic standards, safety practices and editorial workflows into their day-to-day operations
  • Receiving and making active use of the media production kit provided by the action
  • Participating in DW Akademie-organised mentorship and management-consultancy sessions throughout the programme
  • Helping to establish and anchor the Media Emergency Kit Network, including supporting one-day information sessions for community media in their areas
  • Documenting their participation, outputs and results, and sharing progress with DW Akademie
Fill the Space

The project Fill the Space: Ensuring information supply and media trust for stabilisation in Syria is funded by the European Union and implemented by DW Akademie, in partnership with Fatabyyano. The project seeks to strengthen local media capacities, enhance fact-checking practices, and promote awareness-raising initiatives to combat disinformation in Syria.
