…Imperial from 2006 to 2009; but over the years most Japanese brands phased out these models as demand for slimmer and tapered (then wider) jeans erased any interest in bootcut silhouettes. Sugar Cane seems to be the first Japanese brand to revisit this style with a completely reworked fit and a new pure-indigo dyed 14oz denim developed in-house and based off bootcut jeans from the early 1970’s, while the fit is inspired by silhouettes closer to the late 1970’s. I guess if you’re selling jeans for nearly 20 years then you’ll see styles you never thought would come back actually come back, and here we are, bootcut jeans, we have them again.

…Warehouse’s S1003XX-LTD recreates a rare wartime style using brown cotton-blend pink selvedge ID denim and era-specific details throughout. Produced as a limited 30th Anniversary release, this jean combines historically accurate construction with Warehouse’s renowned vintage denim craftsmanship. Warehouse has decided not to share the weight information for this denim. For online clients who cannot see the jeans in person before ordering, we estimate this denim is around 15oz. Now at all stores in very limited numbers.

…Japanese made black/black 1947 jean, and they’re finally here. Sugar Cane has taken 1947 jean, which we could say is the most solid classic straight leg jean fit of all time, and made it out of their 13oz yarn-dyed black selvedge denim. This fabric has a sulfur dyed warp and a reactive dyed weft, this gives you a deep black jean which will age over time with some decent character, similar to how an indigo jean will age with regular wear. These are now available up to size 40 at all stores and online.

Using the same black dying techniques used on many Japanese horsehides PBJ has created a black denim which fades to a deep brown hue in high friction points with regular wear. This denim has a brown weft and a tea-core dyed black over brown warp. We’ve seen worn in samples of this denim in person and it looks absolutely wild. Now at all stores in their straight tapered 019 leg fit.

…denim feel right, the stitching is perfect, the iron buttons are classically reproduced, and the deer skin patch ages just as well as the denim itself. We had them make us a batch of these in a longer body and sleeve length for those who’ve always wanted a classic Type II from Sugar Cane but couldn’t pull it off due to the cropped body.

Also.. the batch we received are unsanforized AND unwashed, so you can do the at-home rinse yourself and brag about it on Superfuture like it’s 2007.
