The daily archive

This address used to hold the PythonWare daily, Fredrik Lundh's running notes on Python, imaging and whatever else he was working on. He also wrote at effbot.org for many years.

Those pages are not reproduced here. They were his writing, and the respectful thing is to point you at the originals rather than to repost them under someone else's domain.

Reading the originals

• The Internet Archive holds snapshots of both pythonware.com and effbot.org going back to the late nineties. Search for either address at web.archive.org and pick a date.
• Much of the effbot material is still widely mirrored and quoted. Where you find a copy, check the date, because a lot of it predates Python 3.

What is here instead

Rather than imitating a personal blog that is no longer being written, this site keeps a small set of working notes and tools for people who land here from twenty year old links:

• PIL and Pillow, and how to move code across
• The Image module
• An introduction to Tkinter for Python 3
• The tools

If you have a specific page in mind that used to live here and you think a modern version would be worth writing, that is useful to know.
