Each Winds of  War novel has its own plot, characters, and locale. That means they can be read in any order. But the war  will come to an end.  And that time has come.

RED ROVER, The thrilling conclusion to the Winds of War series by New York bestselling author William C. Dietz is on on sale now.

After attacking, and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese invaded Tibet. Within hours the United States and its allies declared war on China, even as Russian forces invaded Europe, and World War III began.
Two years have passed, and WWIII continues to rage. However, in spite of the many battles the Allies have won, China fights on.
The Allies are about to launch Operation Pyro, which will include guerilla attacks originating from Mongolia. But for that plan to succeed, the Allies will need support from China’s Uyghur population, most of whom live in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. An area which is anything but autonomous, since approximately a million Uyghurs are confined to political education camps, pre-trial detention centers, and prisons. Their crime? Being Uyghurs.
Because the Junggar oil fields are located in the Xinjiang area as well, the newly freed Uyghurs will have plenty of high value targets to attack, including oil rigs, refineries, and storage tanks.
But first, Green Beret Detachment Commander Captain Nick Stone and his eleven-man team will have to free thousands of political prisoners and transform at least 60% of them into guerrilla fighters in two months.
Meanwhile, the daughter of a slain Uyghur leader attempts to take her father’s place, and an ambitious businessman makes plans to seize control of China’s oil fields when the war finally ends.
Millions are dead. And, if China continues to fight, the slaughter will continue. As Stone and his soldiers enter Mongolia, they know that the stakes are high. Their motto is “De Oppresso Liber.” (To Free the Oppressed.) And that’s what they’re determined to do.

The first and only Winds of War novella.

As Red Dawn begins a global battle is underway. After attacking and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese invaded Tibet, and India counterattacked.
In response to the attack, and in an effort to support India, the U.S. sent 20,000 soldiers and Marines to join the fight.
Now American Vice President Al Hayden is on his way to Panama, when a laser facility located deep inside China, establishes a satellite link and fires a 50-100kW laser at Air Force Two.
The shot is dead on, the plane is damaged, and forced to make a crash landing in El Salvador. Hayden survives, but is badly injured, and susceptible to capture in a country largely run by gangs, corrupt cops, and vigilantes. Many of whom would love to grab Hayden and sell him to Russia, Isis, or another group. Knowing that, Hayden’s secret service agents and staff members attempt to hide him.
Meanwhile, the members of Joint Task Force-Bravo located at nearby Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras are notified, and placed on high alert. And that includes army Captain Jim Brody, who is being held in what the Americans call the “Slammer,” for punching a Honduran soldier in the face.
But Brody, much to Colonel James Patterson’s disgust, is the right man to lead a rescue or recovery mission.
So, when the time comes, it’s up to Brody and Honduran Lieutenant Maria Perez to carry out a dangerous reconnaissance mission, and attempt a rescue. They give the mission everything they have, but the odds are stacked against them.

From William C. Dietz, the New York Times bestselling author of the America Rising novels, comes RED ICE. A military thriller that could be ripped from tomorrow’s headlines.
World War III is a month old. After attacking, and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese invade Tibet, and India counterattacks.
Rather than allow the Chinese to seize control of the subcontinent the U.S. sends 20,000 U.S. soldiers and marines in to join the fight.
The Russians use the opportunity to invade Ukraine, which leaves NATO with no choice but to respond. A full-fledged ground war begins.
American forces are spread thin, and the decision is made to evacuate all personnel from Afghanistan. Troops have already begun to pull out, when Air Force JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) Dan Falco, receives orders to kill a ruthless Taliban leader named Noor Mohammad Hashemi. But it won’t be easy.
Falco must enter enemy territory with a guide who may, or may not be a member of the Taliban, take up a position above an enemy held town, and call in a targeted air strike on a man standing in the middle of a populated area.
Meanwhile 7,000 miles to north, the Russians are holding a training exercise called RED ICE. Except that it isn’t a training exercise and, if American forces fail to stop the enemy, the Russians will land on American soil. An accomplishment that would be a tremendous blow to American morale, and would suck much needed resources away from the conflicts in Europe and Asia.
Army Air Force and even Coast Guard personnel will do their best to push the Russians back.
But will their best be good enough?

World War III is three months old. After attacking, and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese took possession of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Fortunately, India managed to stop the advance at the Ganges River.
Rather than allow the Chinese to seize control of the entire subcontinent the U.S. sends 20,000 soldiers and marines in to support India.
The Russians use the opportunity to invade Ukraine, which leaves NATO with no choice but to counterattack. A full-fledged European ground war begins. The so-called Axis consists of Russia, China, Pakistan, Syria, and Iran—including the Shia paramilitary organization called Hezbollah.
As the fighting spreads, the Russians launch a surprise attack on Alaska, in hopes of sapping American resolve--and in an effort to reclaim what they view as Russian soil.
Now, in the Middle East, the Russian commandos and a company-strength team of Hezbollah terrorists attack and capture Egypt’s Aswan Dam. They threaten to blow the dam, flood the Nile River valley, and kill 10-million people unless the Egyptian government joins the Axis.
But in the wake of internal upheavals Egypt has no national government. So as the Axis attempts to form a Shia friendly government, and Egyptian warlords battle each other for dominance, the Allies send a convoy of vessels up the Nile River with orders to capture the dam.
The mission is called Operation Pharaoh. And for it to succeed Lieutenant Commander Harley Kydd will have to cope with a prickly commanding officer, and battle a succession of warlords, before a final confrontation with Hezbollah. A mysterious CIA agent named Cassandra Cole will be there to help.
If they fail, the Axis will seize control of Egypt—and strike a blow from which the Allied war effort will never be able to recover.

From William C. Dietz, the New York Times bestselling author of the America Rising novels, comes RED DRAGON, the third book in the Winds of War series following RED FLOOD.
World War III is a few months month old. After attacking, and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese seize control of Nepal and Bhutan and push into India where the Allies manage to stop them. But for how long? Pakistan is attacking from the north--and China is preparing for the "big push” from the east.
Worse yet, China’s Ministry of State Security has orders to assassinate the Dalai Lama, rather than run the risk that he will inspire a Buddhist rebellion in Tibet.
As a team of assassins close in on the Dalai Lama, Green Beret Captain Jon Lee and his men are behind Chinese lines in Nepal, battling to rescue a downed fighter pilot before enemy troops can capture him.
The entire subcontinent is at risk if the assassins succeed…  And, if the region falls, hundreds of thousands of people will die--even as millions more are lost to the Axis.
Together with a self-centered army doctor named Wendy Kwan, and a team consisting of both green berets and Gurkhas, it will be Lee's responsibility to navigate treacherous terrain--and prevent Chinese Agent Fan Tong and his special ops team from changing the course of the war.

RED THUNDER is the fourth volume in the Winds of War series.
WWIII rages on as the Allies plan a daring raid the Kyshtym Copper-Electrolyte Works deep inside Russia.
The Russian plant is producing significant quantities of Rhenium, a rare Earth element used to produce alloys for jet engines, filaments for mass spectrographs, and electrical contacts.  And, according to a CIA agent on the ground, the Russians plan to move a large shipment of Rhenium from the Kyshtym facility to Moscow in 24 days.
A decision is made at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Rather than allow the Russians to transport the Rhenium to Moscow, where they will use it for their war effort, the Allies will steal it.
The plan is to create a pop-up infantry company, and send it into Russian territory to hijack the shipment.
The Allied unit will be staffed with individuals drawn from the United States and Ukraine.
The man chosen to lead the company is an army reserve colonel, and well-known actor named Alton Flynn; a man who, though famous for performing his own stunts and his magnetic personality, is something of a narcissist.
But as one general puts it, “Flynn is just crazy enough to get the job done… Assuming we send a real soldier to keep him on the rails.”
The “real soldier” is Flynn’s XO, Major Katie Quinn—who’s known for having a cool head. So much so that Quinn’s soldiers refer to her as the “The Ice Queen.”
Flynn, Quinn, and CIA Paramilitary Officer Dan Dean, along with a company of 130 soldiers, are about to attempt the impossible. If they succeed it will, according to the CIA's Director, “Be a fucking miracle.”

In RED TIDE, volume five of the Winds of War series, WWIII rages as the nuclear-powered Chinese Semi-Submersible Cruiser Sea Dragon goes to sea.
When Chinese satellites detect the presence of an American Battle Group only a few hundred miles over the horizon, Captain Peng Ko receives orders to attack it. The enemy battle group includes the aircraft carrier Concord which, given its planes and escorts, should be impervious to anything that a single cruiser could throw at it.
But the Sea Dragon is equipped with a one-of-a-kind experimental weapon that can not only fire projectiles from a long distance away, but can inflict terrible damage when it does so. Five hits are sufficient to send the Concord to the bottom. The hunt for the Sea Dragon begins.
Meanwhile on the other side of the world, the Allies are planning to attack the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. In order to succeed the Allies will have to engage enemy patrol boats and neutralize heavily armed gun towers.
The invaders will also be forced to fight the cruiser Omsk which, if allowed to enter the Mediterranean Sea, could wreak havoc on Allied shipping.
U.S. Navy Commander Maxwell Ryson and his squadron of Pegasus Class II Hydrofoils will be front and center during the attack, and will, despite their relatively small size, be forced to engage the mighty Omsk.
Subsequent to the battle in the Black Sea, Ryson takes command of a mixed squadron of patrol boats assigned to police the South China Sea and, more importantly, help find the Sea Dragon. A mission which, if successful, is what one admiral describes as “a surefire way to win a posthumous Medal of Honor.”

RED SANDS is the story of Strike Team 3, a combined arms unit consisting of mechanized infantry Strykers, and  Tanks. Natanz is a hardened Fuel Enrichment Plant, covering 62 square miles located 26 feet underground and protected by a concrete wall that’s 8 feet thick.
And on top of that, the Americans will have to overcome a mechanized security force at third larger than their force.
In February of 2003 General Mohamed ElBaradei visited the site and reported that 160 centrifuges were complete and ready for operation with 1,000 more under construction. The site has been cloaked in total secrecy since then.
In order for Major Sean Finn and his troops to accomplish their mission, they’ll have to cope with the self-absorbed Saudi Prince attached to the unit for political reasons, a company of Russian tanks that’s rolling south from the Caspian Sea, a battalion of Iranian special forces troops sent to kill them, and the Kavir desert--which is very hostile.
“It is,” in the words of the New York Times reporter embedded with Strike Team 3, “the definition of a suicide mission.”

In RED RIVER, the seventh volume of the Winds of War series, WIII continues to rage as Lieutenant Commander Leo Baxter and his Riverines battle Axis forces in the Gulf of Oman, the Gulf of Aden, and finally—on the Niger River in Africa. Nigeria’s rightful leader has been kidnapped by the Black Axe arm of the Neo Black Movement, and is being held for ransom.
The Allies want Abeo Kabir to be freed, but Nigeria’s vice president doesn’t. Nor does the leader of the terrorist organization called Boko Haram, or the Chinese diplomat charged with putting a puppet government in place.
Should Baxter and his Riverines fail, China will establish a military foothold in Africa, and the people of Nigeria
will suffer under the rule of a despot.

In RED DOG, the eighth volume of the Winds of War series, WIII continues to rage, as Chinook Helicopter pilot Marie Soto flies dangerous missions over war-torn Syria, army Master Sergeant Felix Bone fights enemies both domestic and foreign, and agents for Russia, Turkey and ISIS vie to find Russian President Toplin’s ex-mistress Hala Omar.
Omar knows a great deal about the dictator, information Toplin is determined to protect, and others hope to profit from.
Then, when a captured map reveals the existence of hidden gold, the search is on to find the stash—even as the Allies, the Axis, and various militias battle to control Syria.
But there’s another secret as well, one which puts Omar’s life in even greater danger, as she tries to survive and Soto seeks to protect her.

In RED LINE, the ninth volume of the Winds of War series, WWIII continues to rage as North Korean Respected Comrade Chung Hee Bak, launches a surprise attack on the south, hoping to roll over South Korea’s capital city of Seoul and loot it before the Allies can respond. And the plan works. And thanks to all of the fighting elsewhere, Bak figures he’ll be able to hold onto the city of Seoul and expand from there.
But American President Alice Dearing has other ideas. Not only is she determined to fight, with help from Japan, but to occupy all of North Korea, and hold it until the war ends and the U.N. can step in.
It’s an audacious plan and one which will depend on a brigade of soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 11the Airborne Division to strike from the north, while Japanese marines land on the east coast of South Korea, and that country’s special forces soldiers attack key targets.
Meanwhile, both Russia and China are working both overtly and covertly to assist Comrade Bak and prevent the Allies from securing a foothold in East Asia.  Millions of lives are at stake as giants collide, and nothing is certain especially for LT. Colonel Mark Axton, and the Wolverine Battalion, who are the tip of the spear.
