Adoption

Today this girl came to terms with the fact that Petchi is my "adopted" daughter. I think knowing I didn't carry her in my belly made it easier for her to accept that Perchi is my kid. We had a deep discussion about adoption and siblings. Hope her parents are cool with that.

Mr and Mrs #5

This is my favorite of the whole shoot... and probably not one that they will print extra large. But I love it. Sorry Mrs #5 heh heh.

I also love seeing these cute faces at church on Sundays. This kid is a lady's man for sure! He is sooo sweet the girls love him.
Every time I see him... EVERY TIME, he has to make sure that I know he exists. He usually runs up and stands in front of my face till I acknowledge him. Sometimes he will just come up kiss me on the nose, I will say his name, call him my favorite boy, and he scampers away satisfied.
He is sweet. I hope he stays that way forever!

It is super fun for me to see my little brothers be such good husbands and dads. It inspires me. I feel so much joy when I get to experience that.

The Petchster and the Grandparents

I came across this little gem tonight.
I love how my grandparents treat Petchi.
I am also feeling sad for my Grandma... she is missing this guy a lot.

Mr and Mrs # 4

I am pretty sure Mrs. #4 doesn't  know I am posting this photo... it is my very favorite one of them this round. (She doesn't read my blog... I think, so who cares right?!)

I have a little story for you... well 2 stories really.
First... the girl on the left with the angelic face... her name is Evilyn. (Don't be deceived).
She came running into my house the other day holding a drawing. I asked her what it was.
Evil: "My mommy has a baby in her belly!"
I have heard interesting stories from various 4 year olds and decided to store this info back in my brain, till her older sister Vampirelover came running behind and said...
"MOM said NOT to TELL ANYONE!".
And then... I was SOOO Happy!!!!!!!
And, I kept a secret pretty darn well for a good 2 weeks... give or take a slip up here or there.

Story #2... and I am going to have to go back and see if I have posted about this already.... anyway on to two.
So Miss sweetness on the right... Miss Vampirelover... YES she is obsessed with vampires and all things creepy. She has been alluding to the fact that she and her sister think I may be a vampire.
It started with this sentence:
Miss VPL," Auntie, your skin is very pale and light".
I knew what she was talking about but I ignored it.
Later she blatantly asked me, "Auntie are you a Vampire?" raised brow and expectant smile.
Me: " If I were a vampire I couldn't tell you. You know vampires can't divulge their existence to humans".
Evilyn with fear in her voice, "Auntie, are you a scary vampire?". So now she got her sister in on it. A less brave little sister.
A week or so later the little one( despite her love of evil acts, is terrified of creatures of the dark).. anyway later she asked me, "Auntie do you have sharp teeth that come out at night?"
Her mother had to reassure her that I was NOT in fact a vampire and vampires are NOT real.
Like I said on fb... " Curse this fair skin and remarkable beauty of mine".

This family has turned out to be some of my most favorite neighbors of all time. I absolutely love love love living near them.

and this, my friends is the cherry on top. I love this lovey little guy.

Feeling the Halloween spirit

So today I came home from work ready to get some Halloween on. My nieces and I were invited to a Halloween party that we have been looking forward to for weeks. We made delicious spooky treats and dressed up. We got there early... a little too early. The party is actually tomorrow.

Littles and lipgloss

Tonight the littles and I made lipgloss. It was great in theory. I got the recipe from activity days. It calls for 1 cup Vaseline and 2 packets of koolaid. You can add nontoxic glitter as well.

Start by melting the Vaseline slowly. In the microwave 45 seconds at a time till it is very liquidy... About 5 min. The add the koolaid and glitter. Pour into little jars and refrigerate until solid again.

I decided to take it up a notch and add crystal light. ( that's all I had in the house)...
Fail. The crystals don't dissolve. It stays grainy but delicious. Just ask the girls who are slurping it up out of their little jars.
Moral: stick to the recipe.

Getting Spooky wid it

We got our spook on with cheese cloth ghosts.

If you plan to do the same, make sure you're using the starch method and not the sugar. Out first attempt was a failure.
