Well dang. You tell us this just as I was about to send you an ergonomic potato peeler made of papier maché. I'll know another time.

I, Like The View said...

(did you send that from your new toy?!)

some ideas:

M&S and Waitrose sell them ready peeled. . .

get someone else to peel them for you. . .

serve baked potatoes. . .

serve spaghetti instead. . .

as my sweet Vicus would say, I hope that helps

We mostly have baked or new potatoes, neither of which need peeling. You, your grandma and I evidently have a lot in common.

Without the peel you lose the de terreness, the essence of pomme, if you like.
I always peel apples though.

Christopher is it a thing of beauty?

Jax I just do new ones or I do Uncle Ben's microwaveable rice (2 mins!). Pasta is fraught with being al dente enough to break teeth and in a nano second total squidge bleugh.

Z you are always my culinary inspiration but when you show off like your last post!

Mig peel apples???? WHY?!

Yes of great beauty but it got left out in the rain by mistake.

I can confirm that I never saw a potato (peeled or otherwise) in the time I was there last week.

I trust there will be chips when I return.

Get the iPhone potato peeling App! It runs on microchips.

(Only time I peel spuds is if I want the sprouting eyes to plant.)

I don't peel spuds.

a) I'm lazy

b) not enough fibre in my diet and most of the spuds nutrients are just under the skin.

and

c) I'm lazy.

I peel 'em. I like them mashed with lots of butter, heavy cream and cream cheese in them. The peels are a downer for me. But i'm a capricorn. We can't help ourselves. I think.

Chris - I've seen the chopper now - what a beauty!

Dave - I'm worried that you might not make it! Listen (seriously) please don't feel obliged to set about making stables if you're still feeling so tired - kein problem.

Di - still not over it :((. However your problems will be greater shortly - First-Born headed your way!

Roses - moi too - life's definitely too short. Washing them is almost a step too far.

Joy - I like them like that as well, but only if someone else does them!

Self-motivating is my main problem. A spot of something constructive may be good therapy.

And some chips.

Z girl, come to Southern CA and I will make you the most horribly fattening and unhealthy smashed potatoes ever. Plus I will make you the ever popular "heart attack vegetables". I can render any healthy item totally worthless and heart endangering! but yummy!
