Painting pumpkins 2012

Hermoine with her Harry Potter and Hedwig pumpkins. She did a great job making these without much help!

Gabby with her princess ballerina pumpkin

Nate picked one of the little pumpkins from the backyard to paint. It ended up being rainbow polka-dot-y. He also painted a really cute black spider pumpkin at preschool, no pics though.

Jack-o-lantern Pizza

The kiddos each made their own pizza pumpkin before Halloween. They are never that happy to help with dinner!

Waimea Bay

Our favorite beach to visit was Waimea Bay. It had the best waves! These little silvery-blue fish were caught in the current and would get washed up on the beach. The kids would gather them up and put them in a pail of water.

Then, Hope had fun trying to grab them in the bucket.

One of our favorite memories of Hawaii is when Carter got one of the little fish stuck in her lifejacket. She did not think it was funny, which made us laugh more!
We were so glad we got to visit David and Mandy and the kids. It made us miss them more and we wish these cousins got to see eachother more often. Love you guys!

Beach Dance, by Solomon

Um, watching Solomon walk the beach with his flippers on was so cute. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures of him :)

Polynesian Cultural Center

The kids loved the Polynesian Cultural Center! They got to dance, craft, play games, take a boat ride, watch shows, fish, get tatoos...it was a good time.

Nate even got crowned King of Tonga!

At Pearl Harbor

Posted by Picasa

Seemed appropriate...

...to post our Pearl Harbor pictures today. It was a sobering part of our trip. We were grateful for the children's efforts to be reverent and respectful. They did great and learned a lot while we were there. It is a beautiful memorial and visiting stirred up feelings of patriotism, as well as gratitude for those who fight to defend our freedom.
