The inspirational theme was "Home Sweet Home".
We tried out shades and tints of one colour to create art.
Wonderful time.
Next session on 8 Jun 2017, and the theme is "Fabric".

We had an explosion of colours creating molas inspired ATCs. Molas is a form of fabric art from Pananma.
We are also in the thick of our preparation for our exhibition in March next year. It is getting exciting.

Digital Paintbox
In these past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of exploring further the use of the digital paintbox in on the iPad.
First, I have been quite intrigued and really having fun using the Inkpad app to create vector drawings. As I was working on a few work projects, all that doodling came in very useful - posters, game board, and website design.
On top of that, I was also able to create a teaching resource as a personal project - pdf activity sheets, game cards and a TinyTap game.
Yesterday, I learned loads from Rob Sketcherman about the use of the Procreate app as part of the Bandung Sketchwalk International Edition. Nothing like hearing from someone who has discovered the power of this great app because he shared practical tips and with great passion. This is truly a wonderful app and I look forward to creating with it. This is what I put together during the workshop.
A big thank you to all the creative minds who created these 2 wonderful apps for the iPad, and for the inspiring works that many artists who have started using the digital paintbox with such flourish! The digital paintbox sure opens up a whole new world for playing and working with visual arts.

A*Live @ Bishan Library Apr 2013
This was yet another fun session together. We tried our hands at this tracing-staining-transfer method for creating colourful art pieces.
There were also some interesting ATCs for this month, including those for this month's theme "My Everyday".
We will meet again on 9 May and the theme is "Yesterday".
Tonight, we also decided to move the June session to 6 June (instead of 13 Jun).

PS* I Love You
"Busy is the new fine."
Does the bustle of life get to you? The Colouring Coo Doodling Doo series is your playground for taking that much needed pause.
Everyone, young and old, enjoys colouring and doodling. With this series tied-in to creativity skills, it hopes to be as enjoyable and it is useful.
Introducing the first title in this series: PS* I Love You.
This is inspired by the intricate and beautiful batik artwork on Peranakan sarongs, especially those vintage ones which were hand-drawn.

Paper Mosaic with Vicki

We had a wonderful class with Vicki learning how to put a paper mosaic ATC together. She provided all the materials and guided us patiently.
Don't these look gorgeous?
It was also a good time to catch up with the rest over a meal while we waited for our work to dry.
All in all, a lovely evening of creative pause.

A*Live April 2011

The April ATC session at Bishan Library was loads of fun. We had an explosion of ATCs responding to the theme of Alphabets. The table for displaying them was overflowing!
Using Rich Davis' Pick and Draw, we created some cool cartoon faces too.

The next session will be on 12 May and the theme is "Mother and Father".

Merlion

Adding a touch a colour to OWoodz' beautiful Merlion wood puzzle has been fun.
I tried 2 rather different styles. On one side, a more painterly feel while the other is with zentangle.

Which do you prefer? Or perhaps this inspires you to create your own?

Joyous Life!

Just completed training as a Conductorcise conductor. (The photo shows the Conductorcise baton.)
It is truly a wonderful way to bring joy through this unique combination of classical music, exercise and space for pausing as well as personal expression. Conductorcise is accessible to all - young or old, able-bodied or physically and mentally challenged, and brings benefits for body, mind and soul.
I am excited and cannot wait to be able to conductor a session. Interested? Let me know.
