TUTORIAL: Mini Book Cover

Hai.. it's been almost a year that I didn't post anything here. Hope all of you are in good health.

Today, I want to share a tutorial about making a mini book cover. It is very easy, and I hope you can follow the instructions.

Materials:
1. Sticky Notes, any size.
2. Chipboard or a think board: 2 pcs the same as the size of the sticky notes, 1 piece the same as the thickness of the sticky notes.
3. 2 different Chirimen paper or a cloth or a pattern paper. I use chirimen paper.
4. A thin foam
5. Glue

Steps:
1. Glue the foam on 3 chipboards

2. Glue the foam part as in picture 1 and then adhere on the pattern paper, as you see on picture 2.
The pattern paper's size: add 2 cm on each side.

3. Glue each side. And adhere another pattern paper on top of it.

4. Finally, glue the sticky notes. Done.

I hope this tutorial makes sense and you can make it yourself. Enjoy...

Love,

Dwita

Flowery Tags - Tutorial

Hello friends,

Today, I'm going to have a card maker gathering in MSI store in Serpong, Tangerang. It's very far away from my place. I need to take 3-hour train to Jakarta. Then I need to take 2 times of city train around 1 hour and half an hour by taxi.

We all had planned this gathering since more than a month ago. We were so excited. We were 31 card makers from Jakarta, Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya and Bali. And we promised to swap for the goodies. So I decided to give each of them 2 bunches of twines. To accommodate the twines, I made the tags. Here is the tutorial.

Cut a tag. I used a die cut from Tim Holtz. So pretty tag. Then adhere a pocket in the front part. When you measure the pocket, make sure to add some cm on the sides and below. See the tags below.

Punch pattern paper with different colors with border punch. Adhere on the upper part of the pocket. Here, I used Martha Stewart punches.

Then cut a small paper to emboss the sentiment. Below, I used Spellbinder die cut. Then I used the sentiment from Hero Arts. Embossed the sentiment with some glitter.

Prepare the twine, laces, a circular paper, and a small ring. Here, I made a ribbon using 1 lace. Then, tie the lace ribbon and the other ribbon with the twine. Ring the circular paper on the twine. See the picture below.

Adhere the leaves and the flowers as you wish.
Here, I used MFT die cut to make these beautiful daisies. I adore this Canson paper.
Adhere the monogram on the circular paper. See the picture below.
Voila!! Insert the twines to the pocket. Done!

It's so easy that I gave this tutorial to P3-P4 students in my craft classes.

Take a look these pictures:

How about you? It's easy, right? Since this is so easy, why don't you join the monthly challenge in my Facebook Account. Just add: Dwita's Crafty Crafts.

Hope you enjoy the tags. Hope my friends will appreciate the tags I made. I wonder what they made for me.

I'll be back..

ATCs Album

Hi friends,

Meet again. Yes, it's Saturday and I have much time to make this album. I got so many ATCs last October 2012, in World Card Making Day. We did swap for ATCs. The participants were my friends in my Facebook account: Dwita's Crafty Crafts. After I got them, I just put them in a shoe box, then forgotten. Last week. I had few days off, so I had time to clean all the boxes from my old house. And I found this shoe box with all these beautiful ATCs inside.

Today, I managed myself to make the album for these ATCs. First I cut acetates and adhered each ATC with double tape. Why acetate? Because I want to  still be able to see the senders' name which were written at the back of each ATC. Then I punched one edge with the amazing Zutter. I made 2 albums using the rings. I put one card stock in front of the first album and at the back of the second album. These card stocks would be adhered to the inner parts of the cover.

I put aside three ATCs, including mine.  Mine is the one with Mini Balerina Tilda. The one with the yellow flower was from Evieta. I like the design. The one with Crown Tilda was from Rina. I like the sentiment. I want them to be in the cover of the album.

Then, I made the cover. It's quite easy as it is my favorite one to make a book cover. I used a gift paper wrap.

This is the result of the cover from inside. I already adhered the card stocks of each album to each inner part of the cover.

This is the look from above. You can see clearly there are 2 albums.

This is the look from below.

This is the look from the side.

Then I printed the logo of the Card making Day. Unfortunately the printer didn't work  good. The result was not satisfying. But that's okay.

So, here it is. The cover of the ATCs album.

And this is from the side of the book.

Now they are safe from the dirt and dust. And everyone just need to open the album to see those beautiful ATCs from wonderful friends of mine. I adore craft world!!

What do you think? Where did you put all the ATCs you got from swapping? Make this easy album, to let others see the beauty of ATCs. I really enjoyed making this album. Though it is so simple, and not as the scrapbookers make, but I like the result. Why don't you make one...

Have fun, my friends...
