"You did not win that. We paid for it. You bought it."
No, you buy things in a store. Anything that involves this much strategizing is a competition, trust me. Win. Win, win, win, win, win! (Everytime the UPS truck is seen near our house he looks at me suspiciously. "Did you buy something?")
Now, my frugal nature and competitive bidding do cause me issues at times. I want to win badly, but not enough to pay more than I think something is worth. (So I end up pouting in front of the computer a lot.) Right now I am on the hunt for Halloween costumes. My son asked if the whole family could be the Incredibles. Long, long ago I gave up on the idea that my family would ever theme out for me on Halloween. But he saw it on a commercial, and he asked, and I said "yes" and started shopping before he could change his mind. So far I have bought Ava's "Violet" costume and Aidan's "Dash" costume. Mine will be easy. There seem to be a lot of "Elastogirl" costumes floating around. And I think we'll find "Mr. Incredible" for Johnny without too much trouble. Cooper's is proving to be the biggest challenge. There are not too many "Jack Jack" costumes in size 12 months. They are glorified sleepers, and yet being sold for $40 - $70 on eBay. Ouch. I'm kicking around the idea of having my mom help make one, but it'd be so much easier if I could just buy it and be done with it. I'm all about making things be as easy as possible right now. I was feeling quite energetic at Language Lane's first meeting of the year, and now I'm working on this crazy float for the parade, and co-chairing the Fall Party planning. I think I had too much coffee before that meeting. I have three small children, a dirty house, a part-time job, and I don't know what I was thinking. Sometimes I feel like I only know two speeds; one involves running around like my hair is on fire, and the other resembles a coma, except with lots of whining. But I am having a good time. I guess that's all that really matters. Clean clothes and mopped floors are highly overrated.

So I was trying to be a good Aunt and find this costume for Coop face, but no luck on my end either. However, I did find about a hundred other moms looking for the same costume in the same size as you. That's gotta make the odds really work out in your favor. I'll try to put the word out amongst the millions of mothers on base here. Maybe someone here has one.
The incredibles will be so cute.
Not that you don't know this...but just in case, you can put a max high bid you want to bid on something and ebay will be in increments for you until it gets to that high bid.
but beware it does take all the "fun craziness" out of it that I love. :)
Cori, you are creative. I found this website where a mom mad her own...it is so very cute. Plus you will feel like a champ after making it yourself.

Nic---The only problem with the bidding by proxy is that it gives others a chance to outbid your highest bid. You have to lull them into a false sense of security. Make them think that they've won. Then, with 10 seconds to go, put in your highest bid, and they have no chance to bid again! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I make people cry all over eBay-land.
It's a sickness.....
Jo---I'll check out that website. Thx.
oh you are a force to be reckin'd with. :) I love it!
