This December, Murder is for the Birds!
My name is Michael Northrop, and I am a New York Times–bestselling author living in New York City. I have published 12 novels for kids and teens with Scholastic, four graphic novels for DC Comics, and comic books for Archie Comics and BOOM! Studios. My first mystery novel for adults, The Birder Murder: a Figman Files Mystery, comes out December 1 from Crooked Lane Books.
A retired spy, now leading a quiet life as a B&B owner in the Berkshires. Quiet... until he spots a dead birder in the lake. It's a cozy mystery with lots of New England charm, set just north of where I grew up and featuring a short, pear-shaped ex-spy. This is not the James Bond–type. This is the guy you don't look at twice, the guy who made his living by avoiding attention. Now he's in the spotlight, and the only way out is to solve this murder.
Publishers Weekly calls it "a top-notch cozy" and a "winning adult debut," and Kirkus says it "moves with leisurely panache"—ooh la la! Also, there's a big, drooly Rottweiler named Rufus. You can reserve your copy wherever books are sold, add it on Goodreads, or request it from your local library. Thank you!
