US 6/4.25mm ndls, 16” circular and dpn, or size to obtain gauge
US 3/3.25mm ndls, 16” circular Ring marker
GAUGE 6 sts = 1” over St. John’s Wor t stitch with larger ndls
PATTERN STITCH
St. John’s Wor t Stitch (multiple of 5 sts) Rnds 1 and 2: *p1, k3, p1; rep from * to end of rnd. Rnd 3: *p1, slip 1 knitwise with yarn in back, k2, pass slipped st over 2 knit sts, p1; rep from * to end of rnd. Rnd 4: *p1, k1, yo, k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd. Rep these 4 rnds for pattern

INSTRUCTIONS
With smaller needle, CO 120 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts, and place marker to show beginning of rnd.

Materials 1 skein of Pure Romney British yarn

6mm needles

Abbreviations k = knit

p = purl

st(s) = stitch(es)

p3tog = insert RH needle purlwise into next three stitches and purl them together

inc 2 = (k1, p1, k1) into same st

Tension 16 stitches x 16 rows 10cm x 10cm

Blackberry stitch 6mm needles

HAT Using 6mm needles, cast on 82 sts

[] Row 1: (p1, k3) to last two sts, p2

[] Row 2: p1, (k1, p3) to last st, k1 Repeat these two rows twice more

[] Row 7 (wrong side): k1, (p3tog, inc 2 in next st) to last st, k1

[] Row 8: p

[] Row 9: k1, (inc 2 in next st, p3tog) to last st, k1

[] Row 10: p Rows 7-10 set Blackberry pattern

[] Repeat Rows 7-10 until hat is approximately 22cm long, finishing after a Row 8 or 10

[] Cast off knitwise.

Make two tassels by wrapping some wool around a rectangle of cardboard about ten times.

Tie another piece of wool around the wraps on one side of the cardboard and cut the wraps to

release the tassel.

Fold the tassel in half and use the end of the tie to secure the tassel.

Fold your hat in half inside out and place a tassel in each corner making sure the strands of the

tassel are on the right side of the hat.

Sew across the top of the hat, securing the tassels in place at the corners at the same time, sew

down the side of the hat and weave in the ends.

This is a simple but effective way to knit a scarf using a basic 2 x 2 rib. Both sides are attractive so it is reversible.
Abbreviations K - knit P - purl YO - yarn over needle P2tog - purl 2 together
You can use any type of yarn

cast on a multiple of 6 stitches (I used 48 sts, and #10 US needles, with a medium weight yarn)
1st row - K2 p2
2 nd and every even row - knit as presented (p2 k2)
row 3 -* k2, YO, P2tog* till end row 5* K2 P2tog,YO* till end

That’s all the pattern!

Knit as long as you like

Gauge: approx. 2.5 stitches = 1 inch

Cast on 40 stitches and knit 15 rows

knit 4 rows in k2 p2

decrease row: k8, k2tog, repeat from * all around. (36 stitches)

Knit till piece from decrease row measure 8"

cast off

sew up the top and the collar part

Add a flower or button below the head opening

This is super easy to make! I made it on 2 needles in an afternoon using chunky yarn.
I am making another one and will write the pattern as i go.

The 1st size will be for a 3-4 year old. If anyone is interested in more sizes let me know!

Gathered Scarf Pattern

This is a very easy stitch that you can use for anything.
I decided to make a scarf.
You will need about 300gms of yarn - sock weight - or 4ply
Best is using a sock weight yarn, and larger needles

cast on 49 stitches, using #5 US needles
Knit stocking stitch all along for this, the pattern is as follows:
Knit 10 rows ending with a Knit row.
turn,
(pattern)now on the purl row knit 9, with the Right hand needle pich up a stitch about 5 rows below the 10th row and put it on the left hand needle.
Knit the 10th stitch and the picked up stitch together
repeat K9, pick up stitch etc till end of row.
knit 5 rows, ending again with a K row
Now do the pick up stitch again but this time, k4, pick up stitch,* K9, pick up stitch* and continue to end
Knit 5 rows,(end pattern)

Repeat till the scarf is as long as you like
EASY!!

What i also like is that the stocking stitch curves around so that it looks like you have a tube - very soft and effective

What's something random or weird about yourself ?

I poke out the little peppercorns from my salomi.

Also, I used to eat at a delish place ... get my morning bean borrito from them....until one morning, I stopped and sat outside a store before they opened and ate my lovely borrito. I bit into a stone and started dry heaving in the car, I looked up and a woman who was also waiting in her car for the store to open, gave the nastiest look. I gagged and drove off. No way was I going into that store to browse around after she seen me doing that. lol,

the borrito shop closed long ago, perhaps due to similar events from others.

my fear of peppercorns in salomi more than likely stem from this experience.

Top down cardigan - no seams - Womens size M

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND!!

I have tried to adjust this for an adult size.
This is a size medium - finished measurements bust 38.5
Length 23" (you can make this as long as you like however!)

Yarn: aprox 350gms, of yarn to fit gauge
19sts and 28 rows = 4" / 10cm

7 3/4" buttons.

US 8 (5mm) circular and 5 Double pointed needles
US size 6 (4mm) and 5 DP needles

Adjust needle size if necessary to

obtain the correct gauge.

Notes

• This sweater is worked from the top down in one piece.

CO = cast om
PM = place marker between stitches
WS wrong side
RS right side
K - knit
P = purl
M1 make one - knit in botton of st1tch to make another stitch

Lets start!
CO 85 sts with #8 needles
row 1: (ws)
P14 (right front)
Place marker PM
P10 ( for sleeve) PM
P37 (for back) PM
P10 (for sleeve) PM
P14 to end for( left front).

Shape raglan
row 1 RS
* k to 1st sts before marker
M1 (make one stitch)
Knit stitch before marker Sip marker from left needle to right
Knit one, M1. repeat from * 3 more times
you now have 8 more stitches

Row 2: WS
*purl until 1st st before Marker
M1 P1, slip marker
P1, M1. Repeat from * 3 more tines - 8 more stitches added

repeat these stitches until you have the following:

39 sts for front
60 sts for sleeve
99 sts for back
60 stst for sleeve
39 for front.

The beauty of this pattern is that if the stitches aren't quite right you can carefully add or remove a stitch here and there!

end with a WR row purled across

DIVIDE THE SLEEVES AND BODY

RS
K39 for left front, slip next 60 sts for sleeve onto a holder.
Cast on 6 sts, knit up the 95 sts for the back
Slip next 60 sts of sleeve on holder
Cast on 6 sts and knit up last 39 sts for front
you should have 177 sts. (hopefully!)

***Work all this (not sleeves!) until piece measure about 12" from where you divided up the work.***
Switch to k1p1rib and knit 10 rows
Cast off.

Sleeves
Pick up the 60 sts on the US8 DP needles this way:
Begin at the middle of the underarm, pick up and knit 3 sts on the first half of the extra cast on stitches - kint across the rest of the stitches on the holder then knit 3 more of the cast on stitches,
You should have 66 sts. PM and join.
Knit circular for about 1"
Change to smaller needles and K1P1 rib for 10 rows.
Cast off.

Do the same for the other sleeve.

Neck
with smaller circular needles, and beginning at front neck edge, evenly pick up 85 sts.
P one row
RS - knit, decreasing 4 sts evenly along the row.
Rib K1P1 for 10 rows.
Cast off.

Button border:
Beginning from the neck edge, pick up 111 sts.
P1K1 for 10 rows
Cast off

Do the same on the other side but make even buttonholes with the 1st button hole being on the neck trim.

weave in edges, block and wear!!!

As always, please let me know if you find any mistakes - as you may well as i am not very good at writing patterns!

Some tips:
I made this M1 as a yarn over to get 'holes ' for the raglan shaping - very lacy!

where i marked *** *** you can actually knit a pattern here - its one straight peace so for a beginner knitter this will be a great way to practice stitches.
