Meal After Pill

You know when you are offered some food...and you of course want to eat it but you know you shouldn't. It may not be good for you health/diet or you know it will make you feel sick afterwards? I hate it when that happens...because I usually give in the the offer and then completely regret it!! Especially when it's fries!! They are so bad for you... I had to make them when I worked in the kitchen...I know so gross, I had to make fries, well at least I made dang good fries!

The point is I don't eat fries very often...except these horrible times when offered to me. OR when I HAD to make them for students. They are always pretty good...until 30 minutes later when the evil fries brought on the nasty feeling in my stomach. They won once more....

I wish their was some kind of pill or yummy Jamba Juice like drink that could dissolve food before completly digested. So your not kicking yourself for becoming yet once again a failure at self control I'd call it the meal after pill...or meal after drink. Good idea? eh eh? Better than throwing it up, I'm not down with that at all siiiiiiick

p.s} I don't know what's gotten into me this past week I feel like I'm on blog overload...somebody stop me

Brownie Points

Just wanted to mention....I came home from work today to my husband was workin' up a storm in the kitchen! He made dinner tonight, I was SO surprised and so happy. It's hard o find time to eat a nice dinner because were only home for a little bit then were off going to gym or basketball and after we sit down and relax for a little bit their isn't enough time for a nice full meal. Levi had the time and so he made spaghetti. Now I know that this is his favorite meal and I get sick of it easily, this makes him sad. I asked him if he made this for me or for himself and he said "Both" he is too funny he said mostly for me though.

I think the previous post had something to do with this surprise meal, I should have done it a long time ago!!

Job Update

This machine commonly known as a scanner, is my new best friend at work. I scan a bunch of important papers, most of them transcripts. Then my coworkers and I double check and triple check everything that was scanned, making sure it all is properly inputed into the "system". It can be tedious BBBUUUTTT I love it! The girls I work with are great, it's fun. Not to mention I get every weekend off and the office closes at 5.

New Cabinets!

The above picture is what our cabinets looked like yesterday morning....They were so gross. The handles were painted white and were stained with so much dirt and grime it wouldn't come off with endless scrubbing. We were excited when we got the e-mail about the updates they were making on our building but didn't think we would get new cupboards so soon. Don't they look so nice? We got a bigger sink and nice counter top also, we are happy.

We now are waiting on a new couch!! Oh the joys of married housing :)

I miss it!! I MISS it!!

Lately I've been having allergy issues and my throat has been incredibly sore. I've been gargling salt water, popping ricola lozenges like candy, and drinking hot herbal tea. Which isn't as much fun doing when you actually own a mug. We don't own a mug!!!! I was kinda shocked at first but then Levi reminded me we live in Hawaii...duh. I guess you don't need mugs here, especially if you don't drink coffee. Still...for purposes like sickness you need mugs so we will be getting a few soon.

Isn't the picture above look sooooooo GOOD! While drinking my herbal tea this morning with honey, in a large thick plastic cup, I received flashbacks of cold nights in Washington. I would have hot chocolate after playing in the snow, Halloween trick-or-treating or gosh just on a cold day! I miss it a lot...Levi and I both do. We do realize its JULY but you can always count on a cold day in Washington..even 1 or 2 days in the 3 months of a"heat wave" Washington has during the summer (I can say that because I lived in Arizona...118 is a heat wave!). So I sit here in Hawaii wishing I was somewhere cold so I could enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate while everyone else at home is cursing us because we live here. I know I am horrible...ha sorry! We love it here we promise! We have so much fun and this is such an experience, but we do miss a lot of joys back in Washington that just aren't here. I just want to be cold for ten minutes and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa....thats all!!!

Where is the I-pod Adapter?

So at 7:50Am Levi and I are seated in the Focus and he says to me

"Where did the adapter go?" Levi
"I am not sure... that's weird" Me

Levi looks in the center console.

"My wallet is gone." Levi

Our car was broken into :( This has never happened to me before so I now can say it definitely stinks!! We are grateful that our I pods or anything valuable wasn't in the car. Levi's wallet was stolen, their was no cash so he is more ticked that he has to get another license....for the 3rd time! This will be his 2nd Hawaii license. We canceled cards and we will file a report tomorrow. We are sad we can't listen to our sweet music anymore...(until we get a new adapter)
I've always been really paranoid and careful about locking doors and this is exactly why. Their wasn't any damage to the car so we either accidentally left it unlocked....(which we never leave unlocked)..or they had some device to get it unlocked. Either way it was our property and it was stolen. It's more sad than anything, we are doing our best to not let it bother us. So our advice to everyone reading.....LOCK YOUR DOORS!

Another bad thing..... I think I have a stress fracture in my right leg...it hurts when I run and only when I run. I researched online and I am pretty sure this is what I have This happened to some people in track season in high school. I can tell it isn't my muscle and more the bone. It's depressing because I have made running a HUGE habit and now I don't think I should if I want my leg to heal. I am really sad about this, it can take up to 4-8 weeks to heal!I think I might have to settle for the elliptical machine for a while, if that doesn't hurt. Today is not a good day for me :( If anyone has had experience with stress fractures and has any info they want to share feel free because I've never had this before and I want this to heal fast!

Fireworks, Cupcakes & Spiders

I LOVE the fourth of July. I don't like buying fireworks and lighting them off, I just like to watch. I try to find a show to go to each year, this year Levi had to work so I tagged along with Todd and Michelle. We went to Turtle Bay Resort , we showed up right on time. We just walked onto the golf course sat down and watched. It was cool because we weren't in a big crowd or to far away from the car. What wasn't cool was that the show was only...ONLY 7 minutes long!!! PATHETIC. The video is of the finally, that was beautiful, watch it. It was awesome to see the sillouetts of the palm trees while the fireworks exploded and lit up the sky that was something that I will not forget. (Living here sure is a once in a lifetime adventure.) Levi wasn't too bummed he missed it, but I wish he had been there...I made these cupcakes for our little BBQ we had on the 4th, they were cute and delicious. Todd and Michelle made awesome burgers and hot dogs and we bbq'd again on Sunday.. below are the guys hangin' out...Like Levi's cheesy smile?

And this?? Meet the cane spider......I came home along Monday night and met him...I was SO Terrified!! It was a long night for me. Can you believe they only eat cockroaches and insects? Why do they have to be so huge?! It was the size of a small plate, and SO fast. I think about it and it's still unreal how huge it was. We didn't kill it, because the ten minutes I stared at it out of complete terror and shock as it ran across my wall and HOPEFULLY out the window... or thats what I tell myself : /. I still don't know if this thing is around. I can't wait to get back to Washington, no spiders are this big there. I can deal with wolf spiders now or anything smaller than this. On the plus side, I can now take on any cockroach after Mr. cane spider. Well not sure if that really is a plus....but i guess it is for someone in Hawaii. Check out the pictures of "cane spider" on google...you will see what it looks like up close.

Remember when I said.......Living here sure is a once in a lifetime adventure?? Sometimes it gets gross and creepy with these nasty bugs. We are soaking it up though, we are almost half way through living in Hawaii!! It's a weird feeling,

I got NEW job!!!!

First off...I love my job in the kitchen....I know it's weird because it's tough work and a lot of people don't want to do it. I get sweaty and gross but I work with some awesome and HILARIOUS people! I've never had a social job like it before and I like cooking and I love everyone that works in the kitchen! BUT........ We need more money...and I wasn't getting enough hours......so I started looking for just a second job. I wasn't planning on leaving the Kitchen job completely.
I went by the school today and while I was over there I ran by the Registrars office to check up on the application I dropped off last week. I walk in and talk to a lady for a second and she brings up the lady who would be my supervisor asks me a couple questions like how long would I stay, and when I said June I thought it would be long enough but apparently she wanted someone who would be staying longer...so I was surprised when she invited me back for an interview. They informed me that I would be scanning transcripts and it would be confidential and I would have to be very accurate blah blah. Won't be a problem. I tell her that I would be gone for 3 weeks in August and they were happy I was honest. Then a little later they asked if I would be gone for Christmas and I said yes...and then I was afraid they didn't want me because this is when they do a lot of heavy work because of graduation and stuff. My future supervisor didn't look to intrested in interviewing me after this (there were 2 people) and so I was kinda worried but in the end everything looked really positive and I was able to explain my work experience and why I would be good for the job and later in the day I was offered the job. 40 hours a week until we go home to Washington and then I have a good job until we leave next June. I am excited to work in an air conditioned office, not washing my hands 20 times a day, and getting food all over my clothes.
So many changes going on my brother got a job, my sister may possible be getting a job, Levi should be getting a new job soon and I now have one! It's exciting!

Don't Cry Over Spilt Milk......

I can't believe the price of everything is going up! It is so frustrating.... I understand we live in Hawaii and milk is already expensive....but 6.99-8.99!!!?? It's outrageous! The store sale was 2 for $10...some sale. I stood in front of the dairy section for like 10 minutes trying to decided if I should even buy it... I bought our last gallon of milk. I've made the decision to settle for powdered milk next time......seriously. I refuse to pay that much and if I can get more for my money I will, even if it doesn't taste exactly like the real stuff.
Gas is crazy expensive too but....the milk just pushed me over the edge haha I was shocked... we will just stop driving and stop drinking liquid milk I guess :)
