- My mother claims that my first word was an expletive, although that account is in dispute. (Me, utter an expletive? Never!)
- As much as I love opera, I've fallen asleep during almost every opera I've attended. (Exceptions include the time my mom was in the chorus for Carmen.)
- I can recite most of Hamlet's To Be or Not To Be soliloquy. (But, seriously, who can't?)
- When I'm alone, I talk to myself almost constantly.
- I can put both ankles behind my head. I've long wanted to run away with Cirque du Soleil. (Wait, does that count as two?)
- I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to food, so it's a good thing I'm naturally blessed with a small appetite.
- I have a knack for remembering song lyrics, but somehow that doesn't help me when playing Songburst at Game Night.
- Every afternoon, when I put the twins down for their nap, I turn on Spike and enjoy a few hours of Star Trek reruns. I love naptime.
And now, rather than tag eight of you with this meme, I send it out into the blogosphere. Feel free to take it up if you like.

so this is a meme, huh? i never knew what that stood for!
it wasn't SO bad, was it? :)
:) Not soooo bad, Amo.
Argh--Songburst.
I think my husband secretly resents the fact that I know at least SOME of the lyrics of almost every song he plays on YouTube.
Nothing in my life has been as frustrating as playing Songburst at Girls Game Night in Chicago--and forgetting the words to a Paul Simon song. That's just---a travesty.
Is it bad if I talk to myself a lot even when I'm not alone?!
I like some opera. Until I was 45 could still put my feet behind my head. I would rather read than eat and I eat plenty. And yes I watch Star Trek every afternoon. That is the only program I will watch. And when I was young I wanted to be a dancer. Heredity or environment for you and your daughters?
P.S. we all played broad games with our Mom and Grandmother.
I still don't understand a meme.
Sorry to do this here, but since my blog is technically Libby's:
1. I am hyper-competitive but have managed to have that beaten out of me quite nicely by many crushing Game Night defeats.
2. I can pulverize my husband at most games, which is just one reason I love him so.
3. I can lovingly debate the finer points of grammar for hours.
4. I had a poster of Michael Jackson over my bed. (Yech. Shudder.)
5. I have never seen the "Thriller" video.
6. I love devouring a good trashy romance novel.
7. My dad still sometimes calls me "Blondie," a leftover from my tow-headed youth.
8. I have never had a cavity.
Your first word was s*#t and I was the only one there, so there is no dispute.
I almost fell asleep during "Carmen." Waiting around in the wings is boring, I don't know how people do it. (You forgot to mention that I was just in the chorus, but I doubt that anybody wondered.)
Star Trek must be genetic. I never get tired of the idea that someday we can solve our problems and live together in peace. Our economic system will have to change considerably for that to happen, and I have no idea how. If I knew that, we'd be in the Star Trek universe now.
I know the words to standards, but I suck at lyrics for popular music. If Cole Porter didn't write it, who cares?
4. Out loud? LOL
Kel, what I find especially impressive is that you can balance on your hands while your ankles are behind your head.
Kerri, I'm honestly not sure which is more shocking--that you've never had a cavity or never seen the "Thriller" video!
Jules,
Don't be impressed by Kelly's flexiblity; it's a side affect of her OI. Be thankful you can't put your ankls behind your ears.
I can still do it with my right leg, but my left leg has been broken so often that it will no longer go there.
You have always been proud of your first word. How can you fall asleep during an opera? You were able to recite the whole soliloquy in high school. You talk to yourself when you aren't alone. (haha) Your flexibility has always been a great conversation starter. Your memory has always been really great. I am so jealous! I would get smashed into the floor playing games with all of you.
Seeing as Bryn Terfel has admitted to falling asleep onstage while playing Tristan, I feel no shame at falling asleep in the audience.
