MY KL GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - BREAKFAST AT DOTTY'S

25th AUGUST 2018 ~ This was not a place for people to get the usual "nasi lemak", "roti canai" or "teh tarik" for their breakfast. I went western on that day, accompanied by three ladies of UPM TESL class of 1993: Puan Hazlina Aziz, Puan Hanna Sheikh Mokhtar and Puan Zanariah Abdul Shukor.

This place could be a haven for pastries. I wanted to just have the doughnut that morning but was asked to choose something more sophisticated. I ended eating egg and cheese sandwich as I really was not sure of what to pick.

The outlet I visited is located at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. I was told there is always a long queue outside every Saturday and Sunday morning.

I should thank all my three friends again for the luxurious food as well as the company for breakfast. The Irish proverb is true after all: laughter is brightest in the place where the food is. Hopefully there will be more meetings over breakfast like this in the future. And I don't mind going back to Dotty's again.

RAMADHAN, THE MONTH OF GIVING (PART 2)

friends of SMK Taman Universiti
7th JUNE 2018 ~ One day before the school break was the time to get all the goodies for Eid delivered. I must say I was lucky to have many friends who have the hearts of gold and I was glad to receive their gifts in the month of Ramadhan. This has been already like a tradition among us.

Mr. Lim, a friend of SMK Mutiara Rini

ex-student cum colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar

Thanks again to all the gifts and I cannot thank all of you enough. Only God may repay all your kind deeds.

the fingers only let go."

AND AFTER DINNER, LUNCH

Right after dinner, the very next day, we went out for lunch. Someone had a longing for fish so we went to Singgah Selalu Restaurant near Danga Bay for a late lunch. That is what happen when you stay for too long in Qatar, there is always food that needs to be savoured.

iced lai chi kang, chap chai and asam nyonya siakap fish

The food sampled was simple yet fulfilling, it was not the quantity but the taste was the most important thing. Thanks Mr. Razib, but I think I might be fatter by now.

DINNER UNDER THE MOONLIT SKY

that bright thing in the sky is really the moon

When Azeze came back to JB for the weekend, he had a plan in mind but due to some unforeseen circumstances, it could not be carried out. So we opted for the easiest thing, eating out. Since I was asked for opinion, I decided to go to Banafee again, for a dinner under the moonlit sky and with the music of live acoustic guitars in the background.

Azeze and Hazizul with their picks: fried kuey teow, similar but not the same

my choice: meatball spaghetti, nyum nyum..

My second time at this restaurant, it is a great place to hang out; good food, hygienic, spacious and you can enjoy the retro music while you are eating and talking about anything under the sky. So our conversation would always be about things in the past, present and the future. As for thing in the future, Azeze, please don't leave home without your passport again. So see you again some other time, for more chat or conversation, or for both.

hopefully people from Banafee can give us food voucher after seeing this
