Thanks very much for that fine explanation.
I had been thrown off by your use of ~ as reflexive, not passive.

I was also surprised that ;: does not work directly, and that is apparently
what made your verb necessary  first.

Below is an ascii   rendition of words in Dissect.
It did not inform me and confused me because reflexive does not appear
anywhere,
and because |. appears in the lower right corner of the window.
