Ok... but isn't that the same as list namelist_z_ 0 1 2 3?  I appreciate having 
more than one path to solve a problem.  But I am accustomed to more streamlined 
design/implementation.

What am I missing?  Besides the fact that I'm not ignoring the redundant 
duplicity?
