[Jprogramming] Creating grids

I came out of retirement a while ago to do some work for my former
employer. I'm trying to create some example programs that require
grids -- something I never had to do in the past.

I've spent more than a day trying to get up to speed on locales and
grids, looking at JWiki, Labs, etc., but so far I've been unable to
create a grid that so much as displays numbers.

Attached is code for a test app that has all my failed efforts
stripped out and a potential place for grid code indicated. All is
in the base locale, because I'm not sure where locale changes might
best be placed.

The code creates a main form from which another form containing a
grid (or two?) along with buttons and other features will pop up.
This pop-up feature is essential to my concept.

Are there examples of code buried in the JSoftware site that would
show me how to deal with this? Are there previous Programming Forum
items? (The chronological search is unhelpful when seeking topics.)

Also, note that I'm programming this on a Mac; can I assume grids can
be programmed using a Mac?

Thank you for any help.
