[Jprogramming] clickable plots

hi,

looking for advice... i want to write a little browser based app that
shows the user a plot (say, of their mood, over time) and i want the
user to click the y-value for their mood today.

does the plot module give me the ability to find an (x,y) value based
on the plot, given a pixel coordinates?

does anyone know of javascript interactive plot code?
is java anywhere near as 'supported' as javascript?
