I have a preliminary J Reference Card. I consider it
a failure, because I ran out of room before I got in all the
stuff I need to put in; but it may be of interest
nonetheless.
To download it, get it from
http://202.67.223.49/jwiki/HenryRich?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=Jrefcard2up_2006_04_0
3.doc
or go to my home page on the JWiki at
http://202.67.223.49/jwiki/HenryRich
and download the file. It is a Microsoft Word document.
I created it with Word 2003. I am told that it doesn't display
right on Word 2000, but that it's OK with Word Viewer 2003 (available
free from Microsoft) or Open Office 2003. When I make it better
I will put it into pdf format.
To add more stuff I will have to go to 4 pages rather than 2.
Things I know I want to include are:
A few simple verbs ($ # I. i:)
Locales
Control Structures
arguments to cd
command-line switches
Configuration information (profile etc)
System library scripts (names & summary of functions)
Addins
Suggestions for other stuff to include are solicited. If anyone
will contribute a summary of how to interface to Excel or SQL I'd
be obliged.
Concerning the current document, I would like comments
on readability, including the clarity of the wording, the
aptness of the examples, and the physical layout; and on missing
content. I do not intend to delete anything that's there now,
as I deem it all important.
