Just in case it's not obvious: the inserted verbs are evaluated from right
to left (arabic style), even though they're arranged from left to right
(roman style).  This seems to fit the pattern of insert in other contexts
(for example, the items are treated as arraned from left to right, 
which makes significant the fact that evaluation happens from right to left).
