Over this few days, most of the news are all about the Lynas' Malaysia rare earth refinery project and the "green green" Himpunan Hijau activities. Even my Facebook wall is flooded with the post, tag and stories related to Lynas.
I am just can't stop myself from being upsad + angry when seeing and reading all those photos, articles and stories from the past Tanah Merah incident which happened almost nearly 30 years ago. Why on earth do we need that s**pid refinery project?? Sigh .... come on .... please save our country and the next generation!!!
Weekend is over and a brand new working day is here again but when think of going to work recently, seriously I feel slightly demotivated. Too many things to do and I just really getting frustrated with doing the "double" work, the selfish people around, the urgent & short dateline and finally can't stand with my messy table! One work to summarize all ---> Sienz~
The happiest moment is when the clock knock at 5.30pm and I get to go home! Even though I have to cook or doing any house chores when back to home but definitely, I think I feel happier.
Dinner for tonight will be steamed fish + a vege dish. Don't want the vegetable dish looks plain, I turned the vegetable dish become a colourful dish by adapting the recipe from chef Bryan Ong.
Methods;
1. Saute chopped garlic and chopped dried shrimps till aromatic.
2. Add 1 nos of beaten egg and stir well.
3. Add in siu bak choy and choped red chilli.
4. Add in some water, fish sauce, dash of sugar and pepper. Mix well till cooked. Dish up and serve hot.
Pre-cooked my dinner before I get to clean up the kitchen and floor. Only just need to heat it up and arrange it nicely on the plate before we start EATING!!
I am preparing nasi lemak ala Melaka style. In Melaka, if you buy a buy a packet of nasi lemak at Melaka, most it will come with some water spinach (kangkung) in it. Even my mom who is a seller at the road side selling nasi lemak/ fried noodles as breakfast previously, hers nasi lemak also served with water spinach!!! It definitely serve well with the coconut rice!
Hubby compliment for tonight's dinner especially the spicy sambal anchovies but complaining about the only piece of fried chicken. He said he should get to eat 2 pieces of fried chicken because he is a MAN. Haha .... what a lame excuse =_="""
Spicy Sambal Bun + dessert was done = stomach being feed! Hehe ... I just do not want to stop at there after my lunch. Still have few mission to go before I end it with the cleaning house mission. To keep it going, I quickly proceed to the kitchen to get my cake bake! Yes .... I wanna bake a cake for breakfast tomorrow.
Trying to finish up the ingredients and seeing many different type of fruits in my fridge, I decided to bake a Orange Marble Butter Cake. It is actually the recipe from the Marble Butter Cake but I slightly twisted the recipe by adding in the orange grind and fresh squeezed orange juice. It turns out really good ..... arghh .... with the nice and strong smell/ taste of orange!!! Refreshing~
I give few slices of it to my neighbour aside from the burger Malaysia and dessert. The kids are so happy when seeing so many foods and keep saying, "Wah~ Wah~ Wah ~ Nice~ Yummy~ Thank You Vivian Jie Jie." Aww ..... it was so sweet to know that they do love my homemade snack and cake .... enough to make my day!! *Happpiiee*
Its Sunday again and I have no date or any plan for outing at all. Since at home and brother will be dropping by at my house, I again get myself busy in the kitchen preparing lunch for all of us.
Lunch for today is not any rice or noodle dish. We will be eating Spicy Sambal Anchovies Bun or what the Malays normally call as "Burger Malaysia" + Barley Gingko & Fu Zhuk dessert.
I am wondering why the Malays called it as Burger Malaysia. Hmm .... perhaps it only can found in Malaysia? Not only hubby who is the who one love eating it but I am also quite liking this "burger". It is easily can found in the Malays stall who are selling Nasi Lemak or assorted Malays kuih.
It is not very easy to make it but all you need is just to have more little patience and you will be able to enjoy the yummy-licious bun at the end of the day!
Methods;
1. Combine 280g high protein flour, 4g instant yeast, 30g castor sugar and 1/2 tsp salt in a mixing bowl.
2. Add in 170g fresh milk and knead till become the smooth dough.
3. Add in 10g butter and continue kneading it till smooth.
4. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and let it rest for 45 minutes.
5. Divide the dough into small portion (I divided into a portion at about 40-50g each).
6. Let it continue to rest till double the size.
7. Filling: Heat up oil, fry anchovies till crisp. Dish up and set aside. At the same wok, saute big onions till aromatic, add in spicy sambal (I used my homemade sambal which have been prepared earlier and freeze in the fridge) and dash of salt. Add in some water and the crispy anchovies. Mix well and dish up.
8. Heat up oil in the clean wok, deep-fry the bun dough till golden brown colour. Dish up and drain well.
9. Once the bun cool, cut it into half.
10. Put in cucumber slice and spicy anchovies sambal. Ready to serve.
Since we were in One Utama mall for the movie, I took the opportunity to redeem my voucher with Just Pie outlet.
Just Pie is one of the many new outlet that open at the Food Street area in Old Wing. By hearing the name of the outlet, what else that you could get other than pies right? They have few selection of pies ranging from the categories of "Just Chic", "Just Beef", "Just Lamb" and "Just Green".
Just Chic - Chicken Slice "N" Mash, Black Pepper Chicken, Chicken "N" Mushroom, Chicken Cheddar Cheese & Just Curry Chicken.
Just Beef - Steak "N" Cheese & Steak "N" Mushroom.
Just Lamb - Lamb Parmesan & Curry Lamb.
Just Green - Just Mushroom, Just Apple, Apple "N" Gold Raisin.
We get to choose 2 regular Just Chic Pies and a glass of Power Fruit Juice at RM 9.90 instead of RM 19.70. I choose for Chicken Cheddar Cheese and hubby go for a Black Pepper Chicken. The pies are not really in big sizes and taste wise .... hmmm .... I think I wouldn't give it a high rating. It tasted just so-so for us. To us, it is pretty small, not much of filling in it and a little bit pricey as well. Anyway, no harm to give it a try and perhaps you will have a different opinion than mine.

We have 2 complimentary movie pass that allow us to choose any movie distributed by 20th Century Fox or Warner Bros and hubby choose to redeem it with Chronicle. It is a science fiction show and I expected it to be good.
It is not too bad but the film is visually presented from the perspective of various recording video devices, primarily from the camcorder from the main actor in the film. Oouchhh .... I really do not like this way of filming as it make me feel dizzy and headache. @_@
After few days of having steaming dish, I decided to go for some frying dish as I am thinking to clean up the house as well. Choosing between chicken or fish, we voted for chicken! Quite simple way of preparing & cooking, it served well with the crispy garlic flakes and not to forget, a big bowl of lotus root with pork ribs soup. 1 soup + 1 chicken dish .... easy peasy~
Methods;
1. Marinade chicken with light soya sauce and Shaoxing wine.
2. Deep-fry the garlic (sliced) till crispy and golden brown colour. Dish up, drain and set aside.
3. Deep-fry chicken in hot oil till cooked and brown colour. Dish up, drain and set aside.
4. Mix well some plum sauce, water, sesame oil, dash of sugar and salt.
5. Cook the sauce mixture in wok till thick. Add in chicken and mix well.
6. Sprinkle the crispy garlic flakes on top of it and serve hot.
Sister suggested a new place to dine in when we all were back for a monthly family gathering over the last weekend. Since we always have to crack our head to think where to dine, we all agreed to give a try to Porridge House, a restaurant located at Melaka Raya.
Porridge House is not only served porridge, but it also served other fried noodle and side dishes. But of course, dining in a restaurant that being named of "Porridge House", porridge is a definitely a must or not be miss food to be order.
They have few selection of porridge which include, fish, chicken, prawn, abalone, double egg, frog, scallop, pork, etc. All of it served in either small serving, medium serving or large serving.
Double Egg Porridge @ RM 8 (medium serving) was a bowl of porridge served with salted egg and century egg. The porridge itself was pretty satisfying. It was not too thick and not too watery. Just perfect and I really like it!
Frog Porridge @ RM 15 (medium serving) was another porridge choice that we have ordered. Again, another bowl of superb porridge that really make us enjoying having it!
Porridge tasted good and so do the side dishes! We ordered few side dishes and all of were nicely cook and delicious to us. Only the chicken dish was not too good as we expect a smooth and soft steamed "Kampung" chicken but it was not.
Overall, I would pretty suggest this restaurant as a place to dine out if you are a porridge lover. Another great place for us to choose from when want to have dinner!

Gong Fu Kitchen, such a unique name being used by a restaurant located in The Strand, Kota Damansara. It is not a place for learning martial arts but it is a place that served Chinese cuisine.
Hubby and I were there last Sunday for a dinner. We were there quite early for the dinner and again, both of us were the early and only customer in the restaurant. The restaurant is just a small restaurant with few dining tables but the interior of it is nicely decorated with an open concept kitchen.
Firstly, we ordered a plate of of their Cheong Fun. They have few choices for the Cheong Fun such as Fried Fritters Cheong Fun, Prawn Cheong Fun, Honey Pork Roast Cheong Fun, Egg Cheong Fun, Mui Choy Minced Pork Cheong Fun, Shrimps Cheong Fun and Egg Shrimps Cheong Fun.
We kind of don't which one to choose from as all of it looks so nice and attractive to us. Hubby is the one who make the decision at the end and we went for a plate of Honey Roast Pork Cheong Fun @ RM 6.80. Tasted pretty good with the soft and smooth Cheong Fun wrapping the tasty honey roast pork in it.
Claypot Chicken Rice Set was the main course for our dinner. The set come with 2 glass of Chinese tea, a small plate of vegetables and 2 bowls of soup of the day.
Claypot Chicken Rice was served hot in a claypot with some pieces of chicken and Chinese sausages on top of it. Mix it well before you eat it! Tasted okay for both of us but it was not the best claypot chicken rice that we have eaten so far.
The entire meal cost us only RM 13.80 instead of RM 37.60 by utilizing the discounted voucher. A very worth meal while at the same time get to try out the "Gong Fu" meal .... hehe ....

Ooopppss ..... how will I totally forgot about to blog about Clarke Quay!! I just miss it out!! We were there on the night after our visit to the Merlion Park & Marina Bay.
Clarke Quay is a popular choice of dining and entertainment destination in Singapore. It host to a colourful kaleidoscope of restaurant, bars, jazz club, entertainment spots and retail outlet. You can opt for a wonderful dinner here or just having a glass of beer/ wines with friends or family while enjoying the beautiful view here. Or else, snapping lots of nice photos here would be another good choice as well.
We have a nice light meal and few jugs of German beer here. It was so relaxing and comfortable while having a good chat and laugh over the table. I feel good!!
The food journey continues at Singapore ...... and I would said all of it tasted good and delicious for me!! ~
