Hello From Summer

This is still from "Tag der Niedersachsen", day of the people of Lower Saxony.
A cool Summer´s Day in June, just like today, 17 C / 62F, cloudy, still no work.
But  Henry 🦁 loved all the people from Lower Saxony saying "hi"!

This is for Tom´s Signs2.
Hope your weather is better.

T STands For YeT AnoTher Summer- Week

Ingo was feeling like Summer-wine-time. Italy, Tuscany... it was evening already.
This is for Elizabeth´s T. Yes, no proper glasses...

The journal:

Monday: Rivers in Germany so low, it´s crazy. And we can do nothing about it.
29 750 kids last year here got into a push-bike accident cause they don´t know the rules. How.Can.That.Even.Be?! Act!!!!
Back better, leg on the way up, too! Yippeeeee...
Work? Holiday-time :-(
Cloudy and warm, very good!

Tuesday: Summer? Foot still swollen, leg hurts.
Good thing: The sun shines through the window in so at least my arms warm up!

Wednesday: Got up when Ingo left, shortly after 04:25 a.m., and was soooooo darn awake. Leg and foot pumping. Surfed around, went back to bed and FELL ASLEEP!
I need to work, really. This is no life.
Normally I´d went for an early morning walk but...
Solar partial eclipse soon, aw, well.
I was at VW last time and it sure was surreal.
All birds got confused and shut up - SILENCE!
LOL, TV, "why do I need that special glasses - on an ordinary evening it doesn´t burn my Iris, either!" - To Dad, I miss you.

Thursday: I take a shower. DOOR BELL! TWICE! Threw some clothes on - our postie. I said, sorry, just took a shower, he said, you got clothes on quick!  And grinned.
I sure will not open naked, LOL.
TV-news: 65 years ago today.... "No one plans to build a wall", said the GDR-regime.
Some young people still see East and West-Germany.

Here in Braunschweig... a piece of the Berlin wall.

Do you still see that?! I have (had) 4 very good friends from "the East"! (two I lost).
As my friend says: "There are friends for a reasonfriends for a seasonfriends for a lifetime.".... and yes, she says that in English as at ALSTOM the language is English, not French.

Friday: The customer had a push-bike accident. Talks hopefully Monday. I.Get.Nervous! At least they let me know. Friend in hard trouble, I try to help, if only via WhatsApp.

Weekend: Saturday: Nice evening on the balcony - Ingo created a crate!!!

All under THREE sun-brollies:

And then a good ole newsPAPER:

We had shown wine. And the sweetest summer rain.  We switched places so I could sit in the rain 🌦️
Sunday: The usual. Back... well, leg hurts. The usual.
BUT: Maus had sheep!

As the magnet says (not only)...

And a sweet fairy-tale, The Goose Girl.

Munchy:

In case you can´t remember/do not know: Blanche tried to attract men by pretending she wants to sell her Mercedes... His first question was how many miles...

Origami-Tips

It´s holiday-time and what I always find very important: Give nice tips. This was Varadero/Cuba.

The first time we went we could bring American 1-$-notes and we did something like this (Ingo had to teach me):
The people depend on this and made with love they remember (I kept two on our fridge).

Which is good. See, I´m no lady. I wasn´t used to a handbag. Our safe was broken, so I had all our belongings in my bag, money, passports, camera and we left for the restaurant - without the bag.
Self-service, we sit and Ingo.... where is the bag?
I "ran" (in high heels aka slow) and... gone.
I was devastated!
The barkeeper gave a loud whistle and held it up - he remembered me from two years ago due to the origami-tips and saved it all!

Our "maid" who never had anything to do in our room left the cutest creatures and letters, the cook... oh, my... he gave me a huge hug... a waiter gave me a self made music-CD...

This is also very important:  Cuba of course has loads of fresh fish and I... sadly don´t like fish.
The cook/chef had his wok right at the entrance, everybody passed by and despite I only got eggs and the one-time suckling pig I always said hello, good-bye and gave him a tip.
Whilst we enjoy food he stands there for HOURS and works! Do not forget that, greet! Tip! Even if you do not take anything - this is a human being.

See... others bought expensive stuff, maybe not even Cuban. We took the money for tipping.
(Well, I lie! Two small items I bought, from the local market - will show on SITAR).

And then. No more American dollars, which we could bring from Germany - Pesos Convertibles!
Ingo and I went to the bank together - big mistake -  I was banned to the bench, but later allowed to help explain we need NOTES not coins  and showed with a fiver from Europe.
We were allowed to the teller together with a smile from then on.

Be nice, take your wee time to make such tips and make people smile.

She  at first thought we are newlyweds cause we sleep in one bed. We don´t leave our clothes on the floor, don´t need towels all the time and the sand from our feet stays downstairs, yet...

She had to stay 20 minutes in our room!
We sometimes met and with English/French/Spanish/hands we talked.

We swam in the ocean instead!

Take your time if you go on holidays and produce nice tips.
It´s a give and take - make happy, be happy, show respect, get help, hugs and cute stuff!
I mean... Midiala even took a newspaper so my shoes don´t touch the bed!

Happy holidays! I sure am thankful for Ingo teaching me and others loving what we did.
