I love this tote bag...

Pat has been very busy sewing this summer while she's been visiting back east. She's the most productive person I know and she always makes things that I end up loving. Look at this recent Poolside Tote she made for a commission. Isn't that the most wonderful fabric choice?

She'll be back here is so cal in another three weeks or so and I cannot wait. She and I have lots of "sewing" plans!! I know my Tuesday and Thursday groups will be happy to see her too!

Take care,

I was looking through old photographs the other day and came across a photo of my mother that I forgotten about. She worked in a drug store in her hometown when she was quite young and in that photo she was wearing a really cute apron. An apron that would be quite popular today. It's funny how patterns and ideas really don't ever go out of style. They just get recycled with newer fabrics and trims.

Easy Apron
Clean Sweep Apron
Carryall Apron
Shimmy, Shake & Bake Apron
Valentine Ruffle Apron
Keeping it Real Sewing Apron
Paisley Apron
Scalloped Apron PDF
Marie Apron
Catty Apron

These are just a few of the many, many free apron patterns available on the web.

And, here's a wonderful website where you can customize an apron using your own photos, memories and phrases!

How fun! If you make an apron I would love to hear about it!

A quilting friend and I were talking about the Alexander Henry fabrics. She really likes the Cheetah prints and wants to use them for some tote bags, but she wasn't sure which pattern to use. It got me thinking about all the wonderful FREE patterns and tutorials out there on the internet. This list is barely scratching the surface, but it's a start.

Double Take Tote pattern
Oversized Reversible Tote pattern
Blossie Bag tutorial
Bread Bag pattern
Vinyl Tote (water resistant)
Hobo Bag pattern
Pleated Tote pattern
Cosmetic Bag tutorial
Recycle Overalls Bag pattern
Bag w/Weaving Technique
Classic Open Tote pattern
Reversible Patchwork Bag tutorial
Fabric Basket tutorial

And just because every post needs a photo or two...maybe three, here are the last three bags I've made.

Have fun browsing and if you end up making a bag...any kind of bag...I want to know about it! :)
