I've been motivated...
... to de-stash, clean out, purge... whatever you want to call it, I'm doing it. I've just put a cute bag pattern and the Bendable Bright Light (2 of them) in my shop.
I saw this Sleep Over Satchel made up in a wonderful Upholstery fabric and it was great. That's what I was planning to do, too, when I bought the pattern, but it would also look great in quilting cotton.
There will be lots more fun stuff in the next couple of weeks! Anyway, they're here, if you want to take a look.

Did you know?
Did you know that I have three of Melody Johnson's art quilt patterns in my shop?

I'm not even sure she makes them available anymore, but I've been holding onto these for awhile now.

A fun caddy!
I just want to share quickly today as I'm running out the door. I've been working on this Classmate caddy for a few days now. It was fun to put together... cutting the pieces took longer than anything else, except the binding. That's only because I don't trust myself to finish it on the machine so after attaching it to the bag with the machine, I finished it by hand.
It holds a ton of stuff and there are two hidden pockets for ruler and mat. The pattern is very detailed/thorough and very easy to put together. I had so much fun making it that I'm already anxious to make another!
Photos aren't so great, and for that I apologize, but I was too excited to share it to take any more time!

MATO progress... working on it today!
I've been working on the applique border of my MATO quilt every Thursday at quilting class and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm hoping after today, I'll be 95% done.
This has been such a fun quilt. Yes, sometimes that applique has seemed tedious, but it's going to be so worth it in the end and I've learned a lot in the process. I'm really loving this quilt and my DH is too!
On another note, I've just listed two Grace Errea patterns in my etsy shop. These are patterns I purchased from her when I took her Eagle class with the intentions of making them fairly soon after the class. Considering that I haven't even finished the Eagle yet (I'm in the process of FMQing it now) I've decided that I'll never get around to it so wanted the patterns made available to someone who actually might make one/both of them up.
They are here, if you are interested.

End of the year SALE!!
I've been having lots of sales lately and it feels so good to be selling soooo much fabric, patterns, and books. My inventory is being reduced nicely, but I still have tons left!! There are some wonderful bargains to be had right now.
Just for your information.....should you choose to order.....I won't be shipping again until January 2, 2013 (it feels so strange to type that) since I'm going to enjoy the rest of the holidays away from the shop!
Thanks so much to those of you who have shopped in my little shop. Each and every order I receive is a thrill for me - even after doing this for 7 years!

Another UFO off my list!
Yippee! Another UFO crossed off my list! Something must be radically wrong with me because I usually don't work this fast! :)
I bought the pattern and buttons for this bag in 2009 at Long Beach Quilt Festival. I think I actually thought I would get it made quickly because I posted about it here and I sounded optimistic, didn't I? I noticed that I also gave myself an "out" by acknowledging how slow I am at finishing things.
Well, only three years later.....it's finally done! I've very happy with this bag....in fact, I love it! I already used it last Thursday at my small quilt group and it holds a lot of stuff.
It's got a nice gusset, that gets wider near the bottom of the bag and is squared off at the top. I also added an extra inside panel of three pockets since I always need more pockets than are usually provided. I also accidentally got a two-way separating zipper which I ended up loving because I can now open my bag in either direction from the center top. And, there are buttons on both sides of the bag!
Anyway, I had fun making the bag although I would love to re-write the directions as they were quite confusing. I had to read and re-read them many times before they made sense to me. Having said that, everything fit together easily and perfectly so I can highly recommend the pattern.
I've taken this NY Beauty out of my UFO pile to start working on and I've already made a couple of additional blocks for it.

I love these patterns...
We've added some great new patterns to the shop recently and thought you might want to know about them. I love these patterns since they are the perfect vehicle for the large-scale and super color-saturated fabrics in the shop.
Allison Designs state that their patterns are easy enough for Novice Quilters aged 12 & up.
I'm planning on making up several of these patterns for myself. Well, it won't happen anytime soon, but it's on the "to-do" list. It just keeps getting longer and longer. I don't have to worry about not having anything to do for the next several hundred years! :)

Heart quilt blocks & a garland...
Here are a couple of wonderful ~free~ quilt block patterns for hearts! Just in time for Valentine's Day!
Directions are here!
PDF is here!
Look at this CUTE punched Heart Garland. I love it!! I think I love the paint strips with the punched hearts even better than the garland.
There are soooo many cute ideas - everywhere you look. I'm constantly amazed by the creativity of the blog community.

Fairy Quilt Godmother?
One of my good quilting friends sent me this link via email and I thought you might like to have it too. Especially if you are a fan of paper-piecing, which I happen to love.
My friend says this is the first thing on her 2012 "to do" list and I like that idea too. I already went and got my Fiary Quilt Godmother pattern and it looks like it's going to be quite fun.

Still working...
on my Completely Dotty. I'm cutting corner pieces right now and then I'll do the sashing. As you can see, I'm using black and/or dark backgrounds rather than white. I like being a little bit different.

I'm enjoying myself while in the process of making this quilt and working with all these great polka dotted fabrics!

Sweetheart Socks...
Isn't this a wonderful pattern for socks! Aren't they the cutest? Wow! You might not have enough time for knitting these socks before Valentines Day this year, but you could get a really good start on next year! The best part? This pattern is free!

Quilting and knitting...heaven!
Here's what my day looked like yesterday.
Yes, we still have green leaves on most of the trees, but there are also patches that look like this.

The quilt top I'm presently working on. Easy, easy, easy...all 2 1/2" strips sewn on as borders. I started this last Thursday and just hadn't had time to work on it again until yesterday.

And, of course, I've always got some knitting going since it's a "sitting in front of the TV" kind of project. Although, this particular pattern is not conducive to watching tv. I've got to pay attention to each and every row.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
