Portland Pest Control

Portland is Maine’s largest city, and its properties are as varied as its neighborhoods. Around the Old Port and across the peninsula, renovated historic buildings and multi-unit apartments sit alongside hotels, short-term rentals, and new construction going up all the time. Farther from downtown, neighborhoods like Deering are home to more single-family houses. Add a busy waterfront and a restaurant scene that draws visitors from all over, and Portland deals with pest problems you won’t find in a quieter town.

Green Pest Defense is based just up the coast in Freeport and has been serving Portland, Maine and the surrounding area for over a decade. We offer residential and commercial pest control, including rodent control, bed bug treatment, carpenter ant control, wasp control, tick and mosquito control, and more, using treatments chosen with the safety of children, pets, and the environment in mind.

Portland Rodent Control

With restaurants, a working waterfront, and buildings close together, Portland gives mice and rats everything they need: food, shelter, and easy ways to move from one building to the next. In multi-unit buildings, mice travel between apartments through shared walls, so a problem in one unit is often a problem for the whole building.

Whether you own a single-family home, rent an apartment, or manage a building, a professional exterminator can find where rodents are getting in and stop them at the source. Our rodent control service starts with a full inspection of your property, then sealing entry points and setting up bait and monitoring devices, with follow-up visits to confirm the problem is resolved.

Portland Bed Bug Treatment

Between hotels, short-term rentals, apartment buildings, and a steady stream of visitors, Portland has all the conditions bed bugs need to spread. They travel in luggage, clothing, and secondhand furniture, and a single bed bug brought home can start a population before anyone notices. In multi-unit buildings, they can also spread from one unit to the next.

If you’re finding signs along the seams of mattresses and box springs, we can help. Bed bug control is a coordinated effort: we’ll walk you through preparing the space so every hiding spot is accessible, then inspect to find where the bed bugs are, treat those spots directly, and apply a residual treatment to catch any newly hatched bugs. For landlords and short-term rental hosts, acting quickly can mean the difference between one treated unit and a building-wide problem.

Portland Commercial Pest Control

Portland’s restaurants, hotels, and rental properties can’t afford a pest problem. One sighting can mean a failed health inspection, a bad review, or a guest who doesn’t come back. We work with businesses and property managers throughout the city on rodents, cockroaches, ants, and other pests, with ongoing service to catch problems before customers or tenants notice them.

Whether you rent an apartment on the peninsula, own a home in Deering, or run a restaurant in the Old Port, Green Pest Defense is ready to help. Contact us today for a free estimate.
