Operation Organization Begins

Lists, lists, lists.

I am making so many lists.

I have cleaned my house top to bottom. Steam cleaned the floor again in the dining room. That floor needs some serious buffing.

Things have been dusted and organized.

The vacuum has been used multiple times.

My house looks good.

I'm proud of my quarantine cleaning binge.

Now I just have to order my drapes for the living room and dining room and get my outside looking spiffy.

Why am I doing all of this?

Because the projects that need doing are all in a hurry up and wait pattern, thanks to covid-19, I'm just trying to make the spots that I can look nice. It's definitely getting there!

Coming Up For Air

I always start unbelievably hard cleaning projects in the evening. I don't know why, but I do. I think it is because I like to swear a lot.

The good thing about this is that the room I'm working on is the only room in the whole house with air conditioning. So at least I'm not drowning in my own sweat as I try to sort through the mess.

The thing is, our house is a decent size for 3 people. The fourth person...that didn't show up until much later, because it is my nephew...throws a spoke in the works.

There's so much stuff that needs to be done here and I'm wasting my time ranting about it...but if I don't, I think I will seriously explode from frustration.

The only good thing that will come out of this cleaning binge....is .....erm..well the room will be clean.

I truly hate when I decided to clean like this...I'm pretty sure something in my head is addled. That's why I start these projects when I do...

Holiday Cleaning

It seems like every holiday that rolls by finds me cleaning some part of the house. This time round, I'm trying to organize my dad's closet.

Oye.

That man has t-shirts that look like they've gone to church more than Mother Theresa.

I'm trying to go through his things and dispose of the shirts that he hasn't worn in 20 years, and get rid of the shirts he's been wearing for 20 years and are falling apart.

You would think that this man had no clothes!

Anytime someone's gone on vacation, he gets a new t-shirt. Father's Day is for polo shirts and jeans!

There are so many things he hasn't worn that still have the damn tags on them. Its frustrating.

What's worse is my nephew is the same way, which makes for twice the mess.

Killer Cleaner

I'm really kicking but with the whole cleaning thing today. I should have our kitchen as done as possible today. Tomorrow I tackle the dining room.

I'm very very proud of myself right now.

I'm also thankful for the snow.

I know most of the people that got the brunt of the storm aren't but this snowfall as kept me from doing all the extra stuff that takes my mind off the hard stuff.

I even baked a batch of brownies today!

Isn't that freaking amazing?

Aren't you all proud of me?

You should be, cos I'm so damn lazy that this is really an accomplishment. I will do anything and everything to get out of cleaning.

I feel so accomplished. I think I deserve a glass of wine and a good movie tonight!

Dejunking & Feeling Almost Human

I was on Bactrim for 3 days and called the doctor on the second because it didn't seem to be clearing up the UTI and I only had 2 pills left. I took the second to the last pill before the doc had called in a prescription for Cipro. He said to discontinue Bactrim and take the Cipro, but I thought the Bactrim had worked so I finished the course.

I think I have to take the damn Cipro now.

On a plus I managed to start cleaning today. I got rid of 2 bags of clothes and several bags of garbage. So that's a big Woo Hoo. I'm hoping to get rid of some more stuff today too. I feel bad that I've tossed old 45's but there's just no room for them and well, the dust covers have been attacked by the kittens over the last few months.

Still its a definite improvement. I did something! Woo Hoo!

Now if only I could start feeling human again. Or perhaps get the damn Christmas tree up, I'd be in really good shape!

And Update On The Cleaning

3 bags of VHS tapes...Gone! I haven't made much space, but stuff is gone. And that's a good thing right?

I also did some work downstairs clearing some stuff out. I found some postcards my mother bought when I was a wee girl...I'll be scanning them for Missing Mondays. I also found some kindergarten pictures of myself.

Oye!

I was one ugly kid. OK, I'm still ugly, but that's beside the point.

~shudders~

I've still got to sort out what I'm doing with the VHS tapes. I need to get a whole kaboodle of CDs off my floor before some tragedy befalls them. And I couldn't survive if that happened.

After I finish that mess I need to start on the clothes again...and the books. Though the only way I'll get rid of books is if I've read them. I have enough reading material to see me to my dying day right now, sadly I don't know what to do with the cheesy novels and whatnot after I finish reading them.

~sigh~

Why can't tossing crap be easy?

Spring cleaning the computer

I'm trying to get my computer all cleaned up. I can't believe all the stuff I have on this thing.

OK, if some of you have seen my winamp playlist, you know how many mp3s are on this machine. Right now there are 4180 files. Eeep! It's time to make some room on the hard drive.

Then there's the matter of cleaning up the picture folders! ARGH! Because if you think I have a lot of mp3s, you should see my pictures folder! God, I've kept almost every photo I've taken with my digital cameras on my hard drive. I'm a daft fool, I know. I think it's probably time to move some of them to CDs and delete the stuff I'm not going to use. But how do you decide? Of course, how many pictures of baby birds can I take. (Ok, it's best not to ask, but I will say that I'm fast becoming a bird photographer extraordinaire)

This project is going to take forever.
