When Erda is in town

Miss Erda came yesterday to Seremban. Last week this time I was at her place in Sg Besi. She stayed over for the night before heading to JB on the 9.51 am Sinaran Pagi Express from the Seremban Train Station. I suggested to her to take the train from Seremban instead of KL Sentral as it would be such a hassle to get there early in the morning. Imagine having to get a taxi at the same time people rushing for work. She left her car under my care (hehehe) for the next 5 days (Jas....tumpang porch eh?, please collect parking fees from Erda kakaka).
Before coming to Seremban, she requested roast chicken for dinner. As I am so lazy to eat out, decided to make my own. Browsed the Internet and found Jamie Oliver's recipe for roast chicken. I only had to get the chicken as the other ingredients are available in my fridge and ibu's garden.

This is how it turned out. May not look as tasty, but it was surely YUMMY!!!...And I guess it just cost 1/2 of what Kenny Rogers would charge. Hahaha...boleh buat lagi nih!




This morning sent her off at the station, she was excited as this is her first time on a KTM train, and she's travelling first class, baby! Well, hope you have a great time in JB and Tioman. See ya again on Sunday, Erda!

I was browsing through some stuff in the store room at ibu's house today and I found these..muahahahahaha.

Empty...

It time for the monthly fridge cleaning and purging process. Last week I already started by disposing all the old and withered vegetables. I blame it on raya, because there's too much food and too little time to cook. Some of the things in the fridge were from last Ramadan. I dont really like to keep food too long in the fridge even though I do keep leftovers (in which 70% of them will never be eaten again). Looking trough the contents of the fridge (and freezer) I felt that I can make something(s) from some of the things. First, in the freezer, I had a piece of black pepper chicken sausage, a small portion of minced meat and some some frozen mixed vegetables. From the fridge were some sawi, a bit of tuna in brine, some spaghetti sauce and a bit of mozzarella cheese. So, I cooked some spiral pasta (macaroni works better) and came up with this baked pasta.



Then the half loaf of bread from last week, half box of chocolate milk, a few teaspoons of castor sugar and some chocolate chips (extras from the raya cookies I made), I came up with this chocolate baked bread pudding. Of course I had to use the last 2 eggs I had.

I think I prefer to white bread pudding with cinnamon and vanilla more than the chocolate version.

Now I have an almost empty fridge and a full stomach. Yahoo!! now I can go shopping for more food to fill up my fridge and freezer. And the whole process will repeat again next month hahahah

K is getting married...

Yesterday went to Erda's place because she had a 'makan-makan', after successfully making me guilty for not coming to her place for a looooong time, finally I made it. Luckily I can still find the place ( I used to stay there 8 years ago), the roads did changed a bit but still I made it (sejuk gak kaki). Tinggi giler rumah Erda. It was on the 16th floor, I was sure I was feeling a bit dizzy in the elevator. When I arrived, Erda already finished cooking, so I was the first to 'officiate' the food. Marvelous ok! sangat sedap. Met a few of Erda's colleagues and wow..what a noisy lot...oh yeah,before that watched Mama Mia...best giler gelak tgk Pierce Brosnan in an Elvis-like suit. Fun movie but i guess its meant for the middle-aged people (perasan muda pulak ni).

Then after a short break, we went out to meet Budak 'K' to claim the kuih raya Sue made for me. went somewhere in PJ, it was late and raining...kesian dak K datang naik motor. And....hehehe..after much interrogation about his wedding preparations, he gave me his wedding invitation and according to him, I'm the first to get the card...ah..bangganya, actually he just picked up the cards from the printers the day before. Congrats Sazali aka K. I don't think I can afford to buy you a fridge as a wedding gift..something smaller is ok, right?

But, the surprising thing happened after that, I saw a face I have not seen for year and I wish I'll never have to see again. The moment he looked at me, I walked the fastest I could to Erda's car, heart pumping and sweating...why was I nervous...weird, right? Eiiii...sebesar-besar KL tu, kena ke jumpa di situ dan malam itu. Urgh, the guy still owes me money...in pound sterling, ok!

Erda and I got in just after midnight, and we talked, talked and talked till it was 3am, still we woke up early feeling so groggy and the urge to empty our stomach (after drinking Erda's 'herbal' tea the night before hahahaha.

The sky was blue, the sun was shining and it was so bright...promising a beautiful day..and so it was until 7pm ago, when it rained.

Bodoh...ruginyer

Hari ni disebabkan rasa over-confident yg melampau aku dgn tak ikhlasnya telah mendermakan kredit dan airtime sebanyak RM10 to the owner of this number 0176358010. Tadi nak top up kredit my prepaid line, selalunya aku akan tgk kat phone status nombor aku tu, disebabkan konfiden ingat rupa-rupanya salah...dah la yg topup terus tu..bukannya kad..ngong. Rezeki orang lain la nampaknya hari ni. Aku rasa balasan Allah kat aku sebab tak bagi derma kat orang depan Maybank tadi kot. huhu..aku pun pergi situ sebab nak bayar hutang credit card sebanyak 22 sen semata tak nak kena late charge 5 hinggit tu...satu lagi perkara bodoh.

Jas, aku nak tanam pokok kat depan rumah kau tu boleh tak? pokok terung ke? limau kasturi ke? cili ke? ok tak??? kat rumah aku dah penuh la...dah la makcik sebelah tu dah invade kawasan kenit kat depan rumah aku tuh...cheh

'R'

Lately, not only the sky is cloudy, but my head and my heart is a bit like that too. This is probably due to the pressure of doing and also of not being able to do my thesis.

Some of the things I planned also didn’t turn up the way I expected it to be adding more frustration.

I met R today, and that somehow added some sunshine in my cloudy days. R called and asked if I was hungry and if I wanted to join R for lunch. It was so nice of R to think of me when I was alone, hungry and cold in PTSL. The condition that time was so conducive for sleeping. Hehehe..thank for saving me from sleeping in the library.

R and I have known each other for sometime now through the Internet. R turned out to be a supporting (and sporting) friend. Since we both had experience studying in the UK, there are many things to talk about (even though we were at different ends of the country). R is very friendly and full of ideas. R is super patient and loves making me confused with tricky statements. Loves make fun of my ‘lurus bendul’ nature…cheh. I guess being in the teaching line, R and I have another thing in common that makes us click. Since both of us are first time home owners, anything about houses excites us. I still remembered the trip we made to Ikea just to ‘steal’ some ideas, however nothing turned up like Ikea’s (budget tak cukup lagi). Best la kawan macam R ni. I dunno if we can still meet up after I go back to school hurmmm.

Today, managed to get full 3 hours of reading (and sambil2 baca buku cerita bila ngantuk) and managed to get about 2 pages typed for chapter 2. Jadilah, I don’t think I can get that much at home. After lunch, continued doing work (and trying to not fall asleep) until it was so dark outside, It gave me a shock, I thought it was already night…looked at my watch..huh 6pm. Gelabah la…cleared the table, packed my bags and quickly made my way out before the rain falls. My car was parked so far away and its quite a climb. Boy, just as I passed the *** gates…it was pouring and I almost couldn’t see the car in front of me. I kept driving in the heavy rain. As I approached Bukit Mahkota…its was dry as the desert but the sky was dark..i guess the rain was moving south. Stopped at the Nilai R&R for a loo break and hahaha…guess who parked next to my car, R! kelakar giler…seems that R, too was trying to run away from the Bangi rain.

Oklah, enough for today. Penat nih.

Feeling so lazy...

Lazy to update this blog, that is. Suddenly i feel so 'busy' hahaha...doing nothing. Its just that am not in the mood for it.

just the two of us

This year, went back to Jempol for raya. However, this year its a bit quiet as most of 2 uncles and my aunt spent the first day of raya with their in laws. So, raya night was quiet as there were no small kids. the youngest in the house was Razin, 11 years old who slept early because he didn't have anyone to play with. This year, the cooking preparation started late as we all arrived late. So, only after isyak, only we started cooking the raya food. This year, yours truly had to make the rendang herself as mum abandoned her for a much needed sleep. So, tried my best and luckily it turned out well and delicious. I was very proud of myself...really boosted my confidence because my Pak teh was very sceptical with my ability. These NS people are very fussy about their rendang. Leceh tul. See, I have proven my ability this year, no more the kitchen assistant hehehe.



This year too, we went back kg with only one car, as Dina and Ajim went back to their in laws by Ayah's order so they can spend more time at our home later. So, fewer people in the raya photo. Here, adik and I fooling around with camera after too much lemang and rendang.



Went to two neighbouring houses before heading to K. Pilah. In K.Pilah went to Ayah's eldest sister's house and then to my late grandma's house. MakCik and her children (minus Along) celebrated raya here this year. The feeling was quiet empty without Uwan. Didn't spend the night there, Makcik was a abit sad, but ayah was feeling sad too as this is his first raya without his mother.

So, thats raya for me. Two days of raya cukup lah. I just can wait to get back to my house. Miss my house, my bed, tv and notebook+internet so much hehehe.

Selamat hari raya...kalau buat open house to Ajak2 la aku ye.
