Canyon Lake

On Monday we headed to the lake with the jet ski. It was pretty crowded since it was Memorial Day, but luckily we got there early and got a great spot. We even got some skiing and wakeboarding in before the lake got too choppy. My cousin Jennie, her husband Bill, and my cousin Mike also joined us.

Piper rode on the jet ski a little bit and loved it. And I am still oh so sore, probably from my own mother trying to kill me on the tube :)

Look at that glassy lake.

Piper and Jennie.

Piper loved everything about the jet ski other than that stinkin life jacket.

Arizona

We made it to AZ! Piper kind of freaked out on the plane because there was a fly buzzing around in our window. For some reason it was really disturbing to that little girl. At least it's only a two hour flight.

On Sunday evening we hung out at a park in Scottsdale where they have a free concert every week. There is a little mini steam-engine train that drives around the park, a carousel, and a playground. Piper loved it, and she did awesome even though we kept her up until 9pm. She was even rocking out and dancing to the music.

She cried when we tried to take her out of the swing.

The train.

Chillin with Grams and Ray.

She loved the carousel too. She got to ride it twice.

Listening to the music.

It was a beautiful night!

Fishin

We had a fantastic fishing day yesterday. We drove up to Golden Gate State Park and hiked a half mile into Dude's Fishing Hole. It was gorgeous, and there was not another person to be seen the entire day. We caught about 30 fish too, which made the day even more awesome. We had to drag Bryan back to the car; he was not ready to be done.

Piper began the day by trying to lock us out of the car. Luckily Bryan had the keys.

I toted Piper down to the lake, along with all our food. I felt pretty tough. Notice she's missing a shoe. We didn't realize it until we were all the way down, so Bryan ended up trekking back up to find it.

This girl was eating rocks the entire day. We seriously could not get her to stop putting them in her mouth.

Bryan was super excited!

Most of our fish were pretty teeny.

I felt pretty tough carrying Piper down to the lake, but I was very glad I didn't have to carry her back up. It was steep!

More Grandma and Grandpa pictures

Do I look like Grandpa?

Piper learned where Grandma's nose is.

Why is everyone giving me so many hugs?

At Bass Pro Shops with Grandpa. The fish kind of freaked her out.

New hat, new shirt, and new books. We love having Grandma and Grandpa visit!

Butterfly Pavillion

Since it was rainy and wet, we spent Saturday afternoon at the Butterfly Pavillion. It was nice and toasty in the greenhouse, we saw a ton of butterflies (and Bryan and I held Rosie the tarantula), and we even saw a butterfly emerge from its cocoon.

The butterflies loved landing on Bryan. I think it's cuz he's so sweet.

The fam.

Can I get a ride?

I liked this woodsy one.

Piper liked them too. A couple landed on her, but I couldn't snap a picture in time.

We saw this one come out of its cocoon. It was awesome.

We got stickers for bravery.
