Fly Fishing for Sailfish

This was a trip catered for my friends from Thailand..... They are fly fishing enthusiasts and wish to do Sailfish fly fishing in Rompin.... Well, I am not a fly fishing guy, but I was amused by the assortment of fly equipments they brought here for this trip. My golly look at their stuffs.......

Can't fish without first filling up the belly, right...?!

To make sure this trip would not be in vain, we started with live baits drifting.... and got ourselves the "licence"..... Yeah ! Great!!

After fighting hard, it finally yielded.....

And now, back to the main reason for coming here - FLY FISHING!!!

After a few strikes without a successful hooked up,... Finally my friend has a strong strike....

And this was firmly hooked.....

The Fly was nicely hooked in it's mouth..... Great work pal!!

Well, that's all for the Fly Fishing result in 3 days trying..... Ummm, not an easy game for Fly Fishing Sailfish isn't it??!..... Add another photo for my collection of Sailfish when the Fly guys take their rest......

Sensational Rompin Sailfish Fishing

A group of Macau and Hong Kong guests came for Sailfish fishing last weekend........And this time, Hoe acted as a local guide and put in the effort for the guests to hook up the big Sailfish........

Rompin's exotic landmark..........There they went.......... First,you have to search for the bait fish...........

Here comes plentiful life bait fish........... easy job!!......
This year the Sailfish seem scarce compared to last year,...... They only landed three Sailfish on the first day........ And they were all just small ones too...........

While waiting for the Sailfish to hook up........Hoe tried to jig some squid for that night's dinner....... What a bonus for him when he found out he actually caught a Coral cord...... Looks yummy !!Sometimes the Garfish will take the bait too...........Wow! Double whammy!!...........Sailfish Sport fishing in Rompin imposed catch & release at all times..........

Sailfish will makes acrobatic jumps when hooked..........

Rompin Sail Fish

It been awhile since the last trip to Rompin sea fishing... Today 13th Sep, Again we challenge the impossible, Popping Sail Fish by lure...But we still go for the easy way...hooked a bait fish and drift it out there wait for the sail fish to take the bait....Less then 5 minute the fight is on....First catch.....fight for about 10 minute....after showing all the jumping, tail walking....the weight proximately 35kgs...Second catch, a little bit smaller....Make sure to release in good shape... After all the tired fighting with the sail fish, we decided to go for squid fishing.....Easy job....Wow.... Size up 1kg++... Scary bite...Less then an hour hunt... Unknown fish caught by rubber-jigCutting squid into pieces...SASHIMI on the boat... Yummy, yummy!!
