Master mind

Ruby Teusday Red always, red.

For me this game can take NIGHT and DAY!!! the todays meme at Two 4 Teusday

The game is played using:
a decoding board, with a shield at one end covering a row of four large holes, and twelve (or ten, or eight) additional rows containing four large holes next to a set of four small holes;
code pegs of six (or more; see Variations below) different colors, with round heads, which will be placed in the large holes on the board; and
key pegs, some colored (often black), some white, which are flat-headed and smaller than the code pegs; they will be placed in the small holes on the board.

The two players decide in advance how many games they will play, which must be an even number. One player becomes the codemaker, the other the codebreaker. The codemaker chooses a pattern of four code pegs. Duplicates are allowed, so the player could even choose four code pegs of the same color. The chosen pattern is placed in the four holes covered by the shield, visible to the codemaker but not to the codebreaker.

The codebreaker tries to guess the pattern, in both order and color, within twelve (or ten, or eight) turns. Each guess is made by placing a row of code pegs on the decoding board. Once placed, the codemaker provides feedback by placing from zero to four key pegs in the small holes of the row with the guess. A colored (often black) key peg is placed for each code peg from the guess which is correct in both color and position. A white peg indicates the existence of a correct color peg placed in the wrong position.

Once feedback is provided, another guess is made.
You can read more at . Wikipedia

Starting in 1973, the game box featured a photograph of a well-dressed, distinguished-looking white man seated in the foreground, with an attractive Asian woman standing behind him. The two amateur models (Bill Woodward and Cecilia Fung) reunited in June 2003 to pose for another publicity photo.

With four pegs and six colors, there are 64 = 1296 different patterns.

If you are a "Master mind" yourself take some help out of this;

Five-guess algorithm
In 1977, Donald Knuth demonstrated that the codebreaker can solve the pattern in five moves or fewer, using an algorithm that progressively reduced the number of possible patterns.[2] The algorithm works as follows:
The first guess is aabb.
Calculate which possibilities (from the 1296) would give the same score of colored and white pegs if they were the answer. Remove all the others.
For each possible guess (not necessarily one of the remaining possibilities) and for each possible colored/white score, calculate how many possibilities would be eliminated. The score of the guess is the least of such values. Play the guess with the highest score (minimax).
Go back to step 2 until you have got it right.

GOOD LUCK, it a fun game!

Skogsolvon

Mary with Ruby Red show you Christmas decoration and I will show you some decoration from nature, a feast for the birds. Please visit Nature Note as well.

Skogsolvon,Viburnum opulus (Guelder Rose, Water Elder, European Cranberrybush, Cramp Bark, Snowball Tree)

From Wikipedia
It is commonly grown as an ornamental plant for its flowers and berries, growing best on moist, moderately alkaline soils, though tolerating most soil types well. Several cultivars have been selected, including 'Roseum' (synonym 'Sterile', 'Snowball'), in which all the flowers are only of the larger sterile type, with globular flower heads. There is some confusion, as there are a few other bushes, including other members of the Viburnum genus, also referred to as "snowball bush".

The shrub is also cultivated as a component of hedgerows, cover plantings, and as part of other naturalistic plantings in its native regions.
It is naturalised in North America, where it has been misleadingly re-named as "European Cranberrybush" (it is not a cranberry).

The fruit is edible in small quantities, with a very acidic taste; it can be used to make jelly. It is however very mildly toxic, and may cause vomiting or diarrhea if eaten in large amounts (Plants for a Future).

The dried bark is used in a tincture, known as "Cramp Bark," to alleviate painful menstrual cramps.

This herb is mainly used for treating feminine problems like menstrual cramps, postpartum discomfort, preventing miscarriages and internal hemorrhages and is used as a uterine sedative also.

Ruby Tuesday - Rowans

Sorbus aucuparia Rowan or European Rowan, is a species of the genus Sorbus (subgenus Sorbus), native to most of Europe except for the far south, and northern Asia. It has received many alternative names, the most frequently seen being "Mountain Ash"

Like other rowans, it is widely grown as an ornamental tree. Several cultivars have been selected, including 'Asplenifolia' with very deeply serrated leaves, 'Beissneri' with coppery-orange bark and erect branching, and 'Fructu Luteo' with yellow fruit.
The fruit, called rowan berries in culinary usage, are usually very bitter and inedible fresh, but are used to make jam or jelly, with a distinctive bitter flavour. Rowan jelly is a traditional accompaniment to game and venison. The cultivar 'Edulis' has been selected for its less bitter fruit.

In the United Kingdom, where it is often known as the wiggen tree, the Mountain Ash has traditionally been used as an anti-witching device.

But they do start to fall of, I did get some all over the place.

Malva blommar ut, på ängen

Först står hon där tyst å lynt med nedböjda kronbald.
First she stands there silent on quiet with the head/petals down.

Kärlek, omtanke, vatten är hon överöst med. Men lite energi hade det någ behövt.
Tur att rötterna inte sitter fast utan hon själv kan införskaffa detta i den närbelägan skogen.
Love, care, water, she is overwhelmed with. But little energy she needs.
Lucky that the roots are not fixed to the ground but she can obtain this in the close forest.

- " Harsyra - MUMS"!
- GOODY!

Nu har Malvan fått tillräkligt för att kunna virvla ut på ängen igen. Full med sprudlande energi.
Now Malvan received enough to be able to whirl on meadow again. Full of passionate energy.

Älskade, fantastiska Malva - hoppas du alltid står i blom!
